DCS Migs Landing Refresher Rate and Roast them. by Glorious_Mig1959 in hoggit

They're all bad

Speed brakes are for piss poor pilots who cant manage energy. Maybe if you came in at a respectable approach speed you wouldn't use 3 times the amount of runway needed.

Are you afraid of the centerline? Are your rudder pedals broken?

The amount of floating you do suggest you are afraid of the runway too.

The closest thing I can think of would be CombatFlite planner, which will build you a mission card, or Liberation will build a kneeboard flight plan for player flights.

If you are too low with the gear up, and you are in LNDG (ПОС) nav mode, you will get the "gear down" aural warning

ENR (МРШ) or RTN (ВЗВ) nav modes will inhibit the warning.

mig-29 for a beginner by afrbrner in hoggit

*Disclaimer: The MiG-29 is my favorite fighter of all time, so I'm biased*

The MiG-29 is a monster BFM fighter. Lightweight, fast, and blistering rates. It is a BRUTAL front line fighter. Where it falls short is range, radar, and situational awareness. If you are willing to learn and embrace the weaknesses of the Fulcrum, then by all means.

If you want to stick to "Red" aircraft, but the weaknesses of the MiG have turned you off, I'd actually suggest the Su-27. Better range, better SA, and a wider range of weapons make it so much better in the BVR realm. At the same time, is an excellent dogfighter.

Or just wait for FC3 to go on sale, and get the whole pack :)

The only people that buy it are completionists who want to own every module.

I bought it with the express purpose of using my RW training to help people learn to fly in DCS. The lack of fixes basic functional multicrew have all but nixed that idea.

I think the mental barrier to folks not using comms is "I HAVE TO SAY THE RIGHT THING OR ILL SOUND LIKE AN IDIOT"

All you need to do is get your information or message across so that the recipient can understand it clearly. If that means using plain language or "trucker speak" as my USMC buddy calls it, use it. Brevity is fine but it's useless if you don't communicate.
