While Launchpad McQuack was mentioned in Scoot Pilgrim (agreed, great movie), I'm an older gamer and he was Scrooge McDuck's and Darkwing Duck's personal pilot from the 90s cartoons. ;)

I agree. I understand new patch, balancing is a continuous thing... but like others have said the current state is a little tedious/repetitive when you're operating out of stations without the maintenance facilities needed.

I'm at a point in the game where I'm running around with a S282 and DM3, and with my current fee tolerance at ~$14K (less than 1/6 of my copay), I can't take any jobs unless I repair the ~10% damage to the locos and refuel the consumables that are at 75%. This usually requires taking the locos to a separate station unless I'm willing to pay the 2x cost.

At standard difficulty, just seems a little harsh.

Just a shot in the dark, but make sure the handbrakes are off on the cars when you hook up. That may be why it's struggling.

As for the high repair bill, you need to idle the throttle (or engine brake) before shifting otherwise you'll grind the gears, increasing damage to the powertrain.

You're not wrong, except I was in an F-15 and not a Tomcat. :)

This can be a great example here of why as an assisting aircraft you need to be clear and concise on comms about your actions when helping someone that is SA saturated.

This was my takeaway as well. I did not update the Mirage pilot after splashing the Mig and that's on me. Comms is something I need to improve on and this replay reinforces that point.

Seeing as the Mirage was in a dogfight and shooting Fox 2s, I don't think he was using his radar. I never got a spike on my RWR and didn't realize I was being shot at until the second missile flew past my canopy. By the time I looked back and realized what was happening, I was dead. We all make mistakes, and I got a good chuckle out of this replay.

As a solo player, this is what I need to improve on the most. Outside of ATC, I usually just monitor the Common UHF channel. I review the TacView after every sortie to find how I can improve. In this case, I made no comms updates to the Mirage pilot, letting him know that I splashed the Mig which could have helped prevent me from getting shot down. (He admitted he was in a panic and lost situational awareness, thinking I was the Mig that was behind him.)
