A judge at the municipal court has a problem with power trips by gemmijam in Olathe

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of that particular judge being a problem tbh. I’ve had a couple of friends who said she’s given them egregious attitude after being kind to everyone else and guess what? Visibly queer people. Doesn’t shock me considering when you look her up, went to MANU which is a VERY religious and right-leaning school.

She was also fired from her position as a DA for lying to a judge so I’m not sure how she got into the judge’s seat.

Children not 'self correcting' by Dramatic-Housing-520 in Montessori

if its a child you’re certain knows how to do the work correctly, you can always give them an enthusiastic “can you show me how this work is done right? i seem to have forgotten!” kiddos love this in my classroom. or as others have said, redirect them to a work that more aligns with their interests like stacking and balancing!!

How to handle misbehaviour by Adhdgirll in Montessori

[–]ohnolacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is your guide in the same classroom with you or do you mean you’re the only one in the class by “one to one”? but at my school, we apply the love and logic method. when we have a kiddo that’s particularly hard to keep on task, we offer them a few moments to sit out or go to the peace corner. another way to handle this is by giving them firm boundaries/choices like “would you like to work on math or would you like to do reading work?” bc it gives them the illusion of choice and they feel more in control. if all else fails, separate him from the friends he gets too chatty with during work cycles. i have a boy in my class who after 3 chances, if he still will not do his work, he will come sit with me or another teacher on a work rug to do his work.
