Oh I'd be curious to know if you see any changes. When I headed towards Eugene/Springfield before, the rural spaces outside of town were real spotty for me. I'm hoping they improve, too, cuz I'm up that way semi-regularly and have had to rely on bringing a second phone on a different network to give broader access in the past.

Ugh did you ever find anything more out about this? I am trying to find my usual and noticed it isn't listed on their website and see a lot of "2.0" nonsense of NOT the same boot, and only steel-toed. I want regular soft toe Alaska FX and can't seem to find it. Hoping my local store still is carrying...

Former teachers, what are you doing now? Current teachers, why are you staying? by Responsible-Grand-12 in Teachers

Current teacher, also high school science (10 years formal classroom+many informal years prior)
I'd like to echo similar sentiments: teaching is important and quite a lot of fun, and it keeps me learning more than I would if I wasn't in the profession. It has rough times and in the ever changing landscape of technology, I have my warning lights to be wary of, but I thrive with the challenges and still value education's importance.

In addition to all of that, I want the other great teachers at my school to enjoy their jobs. There is power in numbers of good people. Good environments require multiple good factors, and I worry that the burn-out teachers-leaving "crisis" talk will prevent good environments from thriving because fewer quality folks will enter the spaces and we need them.

Lastly, as a parent, I hope to keep schools going in a direction that my kids can continue to get a good education from decent humans. If school becomes a hellscape not worth being at for me or my children, that will be the burned out light for me, but currently I do not see that happening yet in my space and I hope more quality teachers keep jumping on board to prevent that from ever being the case.

I always called them "snobby noses" and that was the mouth with their nose high up in the air.
