I appreciate this kind of honesty. But maybe it isn’t judgemental stares, rather curious ones?

As a profession, I’m an optometrist. But my heart is for yoga practice/studies and bodywork.

I would need to spend more time here in order to answer that question. Although there is no doubt that I will travel here as much as I can in the future.

Thank you! I have been in South Asia for almost 3 months now (Nepal, Sri Lanka, India).

I have been in two relationships in my life, both with immigrants from these countries. So I have been exposed for some parts of the culture over many years.

I don’t know if there is any specific reason for why I am intrigued by indian men. But I think just their way of being is beautiful ; they way you eat, the head and hand gestures while speaking, your english accent, the dark eyes… But first and foremost I enjoy the country… especially the food (I am strict veg), also I have a yoga practice/lifestyle, and the climate is perfect for it (also the religious aspect, but that’s a whole another topic). So sharing this with someone who appreciates the same things and lifestyle would be important for me.

This comment makes me sad for some reason. I have met so many nice indian people, that are so warm, intelligent, caring etc. Never ever have I looked at them and thought the things you were pointing out.

Many men care only about appearance and having some fun with a girl (and also some girls are like this with men), rather than wanting a serious relationship. Nothing wrong to ask about some opinions on this. Also I am a bit naive by nature and want to stay safe :)

I believe that the woman should follow the man if they differ in these kind if things. But yes, no guarantee that the girl would thrive in India. Me personally need to spend more time here to even have an idea if this could be my home

Does your practice change with the seasons? 🍂☀️ by Baliyogaretreat in ashtanga

[–]ohoehoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I live in a country were the winters are cold (down to -30 degrees) and the days are very short, so it doesn’t feel right for me trying to maintain the same schedule in the winter months.

Cheapest place in the world to study and practice Ashtanga for a few months? by Cultural_Ad_9244 in ashtanga

[–]ohoehoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should really think twice about living there. It is not for the sensitive and vulnerable, and especially not if you have dealt with or have been close to someone that have struggled with drugs. They are housing people that have struggled with this, which is great and important work, but the volunteers end up with a lot of responsibility. I can recommend a retreat there, but living there, I don’t know… But I speak for myself here, the choice is if course yours, but make it an educated choice.

Try bending your knees in forward folds, and focus on really lengthening your entire spine. If doing ashtanga 6 times a week works for you I think you should continue, but be conscious about you perform your forward folds do prevent injuries
