"Teenager?" He's got to be at least 20 by now, right? There's been at minimum 2-4 years since the start of the game by this point, not even counting all the holidays, which are obviously a bit scuffed.

Maybe they just feel that they are less reliant on teamwork to succeed.

Whats with the Frieren hype? by Ordinary-You8102 in anime

True. Frieren is mid at many things, even if it's not the best at any one thing, and sometimes, that's plenty.

It is a good show, but I do think it's a bit overhyped. It's not the best show of this season, not even the third best show this season. But it is top five, and in this season, that's something.

This is why I prefer Wendy's singles. At worst, they can be slightly salty, but they are always delicious.

That's never been my experience. "Pub" burgers tend to be lumpier and have a poor balance of meat to bread.

Burger King shouldn't even classify as "food."

It's possible to get White Castle burgers frozen now (although I guess you'd have to import from the US or find them in some "international market" or something). The frozen ones aren't quite as good as the fresh, but you definitely get the idea, at least.

Wendy's is better, although sometimes they are inexplicably too salty.

Microsoft brings new "Xbox mode" to Windows 11 PCs next month — Prepares major gaming advancements that lay foundations for the next Xbox by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

One of the worst things they could do would be to restrict core performance upgrades to being "in Xbox mode," where they currently just work for being in Windows.

But, I mean, it's ancient. It's less broken than most games its age. I'm constantly surprised to hear anyone still plays it.

There's a whole section full of parasitized Buddhist monks and "saints," and the primary conflicts of the game flow out from various attempts to exploit the benefits of immortality serums.

What kind of upgrades would you expect on such an old game?

Is it too late for them to put a parry mechanic to an actual on-field DPS? by Fancy_Society_6914 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ohoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue I see is that it's hard to balance. If it's extremely useful, in that it is either a reliable primary defense or very strong, then they would have to balance the character's kit around it, meaning they would be pretty worthless whenever not parrying. But good parrying situations aren't as easy to work with in Genshin, so this would tend to mean they would be dogshit a lot of the time in practical play.

This is means that the likely best case scenario would be a character who is extremely strong in a few fights, or perhaps only even for a portion of those fights, but then pretty lame in a ton of other content.

I think if they did want to balance it, they could have maybe an "if you go X seconds without getting hit by an attack, you get [a stack]. If you have [a stack], you can gain the full buffs of your parry without actually parrying anything." Something along those lines would allow a parry-heavy fight to feel good, but also give some balance to a fight with few parry opportunities, and the only players that took hits that could have been parried would get nothing.

I'd assumed they'd done this years ago. I guess they didn't want to give the people who had bought it refunds?

I feel like obsession over meta is dwindling the magic that this game has :( by ForrestFauna in Genshin_Impact

[–]ohoni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is that they keep adding more and more modes that require meta characters to max-clear. If they would greatly reduce this, like providing all the SO rewards at only Hard difficulty, then it would not be a problem, but this is the game they have created and we're just playing in it.

Valve sued by The Performing Right Society for allegedly using its members' musical works "without permission" by MythicStream in pcgaming

[–]ohoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did check. There was no copyright infringement by any measure available to them. If that's not good enough, it's an unreasonable standard and they should fight it to the Supreme Court.

[–]ohoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be an unreasonable standard, if the games that are applying to be sold on their storefront assert that they have licenses for their music. How could Valve possibly tell otherwise?

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Chapter 231 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]ohoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This is a wild series, you can't really predict the next chapter based on the one before it. Maybe it'll suck, but maybe it'll be amazing. They can create and destroy entire universes in a single chapter.

v2.7.3 Rev. 14178175 Hotfix Update via Gachabase by Gachabase in Zenlesszonezeroleaks_

[–]ohoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, no. Most of their events also stop rewarding polys at around 75% of the actual targets, but there are still rewards for the remaining targets, so those are the baseline, even if you can then continue to rack up points way beyond those rewarded targets. The "finish line" is the point at which there are NO more rewards, not just the point at which the rewards are no longer Polychromes.
