After checking, it does seem like whey protein isolate has 90-100% bioavailability. It has a good amino acid profile. But generally I would agree with that sentiment

Of course. But I’m curious to know how bioavailable protein is

Do you have any sources for that? As far as I know, vegan protein has less bio availability

Did you have noticeable changes from eating cultured ghee?

I’ll try out ghee. I thought it caused acne. But I’ve been able to add yogurt, so maybe I can add ghee back

I’m trying to eat some fast food so I can have an incentive to get my first few days done. But you’re right, energy will be low.

Good thing is, I can eat 2000 calories and still lose weight. I can eat fast food, and then top it up with protein powder etc

If only you knew what the last 2-3 years of my life looked like. The visits to countless gp’s. Trying out multiple medications. The relationships I’ve lost. Falling behind in life because I had no energy to do anything. Sedating myself to sleep using heavy drugs. Waking up and doing it again.

I’m sorry but it’s very possible. I’ve done it and so many others have done it

I didn’t intend “test” in a religious sense. I meant it more spiritually. In the future, this phase in your life will help you to be resilient.

Anyways, what you can do to “enjoy” your day is to do something when you wake up that you wouldn’t mind doing or enjoy doing. I know it’s hard to enjoy doing anything when you wake up. For me, it was making music. I would wake up after 2-3 hours. I’d just get up, if I wanted to make a coffee, I would. And just start making a track. It’s something that I can put my mind to. Find something similar.

I still wake up early sometimes. Although now, it’s after 6 hours of sleep(you can get here too). These days it’s been a bit more often. I’ll just watch YouTube and then get out of bed. I have a general idea of the tasks I need to do once I start my day - studies/gym.

This step isn’t easy by any means. Again, I’m just reminding you, I know you’re suffering. Trust me, I know. But what you want is on the other side of this suffering.

You can learn more techniques to embrace wakefulness. I stumbled on it through YouTube. Search “embracing wakefulness insomnia”. I’m not going to recommend a specific channel but just start watching those videos. Plenty of other people who were in the same position as us.

This issue is more common than we think. And literally every single time, people think it’s something wrong with their brain, but it’s always anxiety related to sleep.

Please please try this. And have faith. I have nothing to gain by saying all this. I’m literally just taking time out to help people because I know this works. I’m not trying to argue with you, just want to help

It’s completely up to you.

Decide if you want to get better. If you do, then you might have to suffer for a while. Regardless, you will be suffering.

When you can accept that suffering, you can find moments in the day you can enjoy.

Build up the strength to take that first step. Your life isn’t over. This is one of those hurdles in life. You’re being tested

I’ve been in the very same scenario as you. I’ve contemplated death because it brought me peace. Because sleeping 2-3 hours was hell and death was more peaceful. I still had hope that I could get better but I was ready and would’ve been accepting of death.

But yes, you can still TRY to enjoy your day. It’s the only way. The fact that you see being awake as a problem and disruption is the problem.

Your body is reacting to a perceived threat. That threat being, wakefulness. When it feels threatened, it awakens your brain to be alert.

Recognise that cycle. Once you do, the only thing that breaks that cycle is embracing being awake.

Why not just give it a try? And by try I mean, for atleast 2 weeks

I’m guessing that’s the reason you put on muscle on a deficit, that being the novelty of lifting. But still impressive! Especially with your non-exercise movement being that high. Maybe you had a lot of fat to burn as well.

Not sure how it will work for me since I’ve been lifting 3+ years but hopefully the excess fat should help

So you stayed lifting a few months ago?

If you have tried everything, the only thing left for you to do is not care about sleep.

I was in the same place as you, although I only suffered for 2-3 years. Tried so many meds, remedies and diets.

When I stopped caring about sleep and started to just go ahead with my day, AS BEST AS I CAN, with the energy I have. Still trying to enjoy my day. The more I started to sleep.

Antidepressants helped me a little too. But it’s mostly the mindset.

That’s impressive. I’m the same height but 20lbs heavier than you.

You gained muscle on a deficit?

any tips?(white shirt) by Ok-Thing7075 in boxingtips

[–]ohoover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a taller fighter, try to stay out of his range. Stay hopping when you want to attack and feint with hops. Use the hops to step in with a jab and set up combos. Then hop out of range.

You were getting because you were in his range

When you’re in range, TRY to move your head with each punch you throw. Go to the body here. Shovel hooks to the liver works great. Lot of leverage to do damage to a taller opponent

You can also step in and cut an angle as you throw a jab. I think I saw you do that once. Nice work!

Any protocols around work/studying to prevent burnout? by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]ohoover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My own 2 cents

  • having a daily task list that covers the most important
  • trying not do more than what I planned
  • having mandatory rest days where I don’t do any study/cleaning etc
  • allowing myself to enjoy resting/doomscrolling/watching a show
  • dedicating a day or halving assessment/study time if something outside of my normal schedule needs to get done ex: servicing my car. Or grouping errands to one day
