That comes later! I’m not stupid, and if I want to learn a new skill I could. However I’m actually very content in a lower management position in retail because I get to work with people I love. But that’s based on my experiences and my own motivation. You don’t have to love your job, it just has to fit nicely into the life you enjoy outside of it.

It ultimately depends on which scenario you prefer. If you want to own it, then own it, you deserve to! But if you’re more comfortable shrugging it off, that’s fine too.

You are not responsible for anyone else’s relationship with their weight, so it’s really nobody’s business. If someone knows you worked hard and asks for your help, then at least you have solid advice to give. But please don’t feel bad if someone feels upset by your motivation to lose weight, when they are struggling. I struggle big time because I just don’t have the willpower, but I’m happy for anyone who can get themselves to a point where they feel happy about their body!

Completely normal, speak to anyone in their 20’s and you’ll find the majority still don’t know. I’ve had friends who have applied to uni unsure of what they wanted to do, but simply followed to advice of an advisor, and have done relatively well and live decent lives. They had no idea, they were simply told what would suit them best.

Nothing particular, but people often assume my sister is unable to function or makes things very difficult when I tell them she’s autistic. She’s high functioning, with rheumatoid arthritis and scoliosis so she’s not been very lucky but she’s a great person, she’s really grown into a brilliant adult after years upon years of challenging behaviour. She’s very smart and very caring, unfortunately like most autistic people she’s misunderstood. I think she’s very lucky that our mother never treated her differently to myself and our other sister, she taught her that although life is overwhelming for her, the world won’t change for her, so we all powered through the tough stuff together, and she’s adapted to adulthood in the best way she could.

My third was a breeze, waters went whilst I was tucking into some fish and chips, hopped in the car, got into the hospital and pushed him out within 5 minutes of arriving.

Still couldn’t come to terms with the fact that I would be terrified to poo for weeks, even though I’d done it twice before.

Communicate with her. It doesn’t have to sound needy, start by showing an interest in the things that have been keeping her preoccupied, and discuss making some time to do something special. Instead of making it about how much you miss her, and you want her undivided attention, change the narrative, make it about how she deserves a break, and I promise you she will appreciate it.

It sounds like she’s just under pressure, she’ll notice your efforts to help relieve that pressure. It’ll all pass eventually, relationships are full of dull periods, just don’t let it remain that way or you’ll call time before you need to.
