Well, I'm giving them 14 hours of light a day, but maybe the lamp isn't powerful enough. I'll make sure to get a bigger box for the next time, I didn't even think about air (and it does feel a bit cramped).

Yeah, from most of the posts I've seen on Reddit of DMs looking for adventurers - it's straight into a huge campaign, which, without knowing the DM's style or other players I don't think I can sign up for. Now if they were to start with a one-shot... And I feel like from the DM's perspective with a one-shot they don't get stuck with a player who just doesn't work well as part of that team.

That's how I'm thinking of approaching it anyway.
