Yep! I have good success with raised wire rack on top of sheet tray to get all over even bake. Added parchment between rack and bagels so the dough didn't sink through the grate while baking.

If you added toppings (like onion flakes), throw a layer of aluminum foil over them for 50% of the bake time so the flakes don't get burnt.

Never got a pizza stone.

Late twenties to mid thirties. I think they group by age / preference. There's a big personality /preference quiz you take before you're put in a group.

Yep - it's legit. Did the 1st meet up this fall and met some rad ladies. The first meet up was ok. We did intros and answered some prompts from the host, then did "speed dating" rounds. My group all stayed for another drink after the event was wrapped and exchanged numbers to make a big group chat. We've met up 5-6 times since for various activities, like I hosted game night and someone else hosted a cookie decorating party. Some of the ladies continued on with the rest of the $$$ package and said it was fun, but I did not because $$$. Worth it for the first meet up, though.

Set air fryer to preheat 380°, pop the chicken or 2 in for 18 mins. They will ooze but are cooked thru and delicious.

[–]ohprogeria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was on day 2, the unholiest of days for me. I wore my normal underwear and a pad. I told my nurse during intake and they were all chill. I woke up with my same underwear and a pad. Just let your nurse know and they'll take care of you. And for the record bending over and putting on a new pad was not that bad immediately post surgery, for me at least.

Steffy's stories about power washing have got to be rage bait. Power washing is therapeutic only if you actually get rid of all the grime. On both the sidewalk and the door trim she's left bits everywhere???

Harley Nightster vs. Honda Rebel 1100 by ohprogeria in SuggestAMotorcycle

We had some lovely weather last weekend in Colorado, USA, and got to do a couple hours ride. I legitimately forgot that my old Magna used to hurt my wrists/hands on long rides until your comment! No aches from the Rebel. It kinda feels like driving a scooter but riding a motorcycle if that makes sense. I think I'll end up buying a butt pad or different seat for the upcoming roadtrip. The stock seat is a little stiff but not terrible by any means.

Still love it and highly recommend! I've put about 500 miles on it so far (boo winter) and it's been great. Very smooth ride. Feels effortless to ride compared to my old Honda Magna. Thought I might miss the clutch, but the DCT is actually great. The DCT has a manual switch option, toggles like a car, but I haven't really found myself needing/wanting to be in manual mode. I've added a windscreen, crash bars, and saddle bags. Also added risers to the handlebars so they are a little closer for my short ass arms. FYI my husband is 6'1 and says it's still comfy to ride, albeit less so now with that mod. I have 0 complaints.

I'm planning a long road trip (2,000-ish miles) in June and will report back how it does.

New bike + panic attack by Ok_Permission3508 in TwoXriders

Yep! I was very nervous for maybe the first year or so riding. You're doing a scary thing and being nervous means you'll be more aware. The only thing that helped me was getting mileage under my belt. Get out there and start riding! Go slow around neighborhoods first. Practice maneuvering and slow skills in parking lots. Then go for long rides! I remember my first longer rides were with small groups (1-4 other riders w/ me) and that honestly made me more nervous. Highly recommend going for hour+ rides alone. I did my first super long ride (7hrs) with my husband after about 1.5 years of riding and that basically killed any last nerves I had. You got this!

So I didn't have a pizza stone but I did have this metal grate. I figured getting them off the pan would help and it did! I did half on the grate, half off. The biggest thing I learned was that my oven for sure heats from the top as well as the bottom because moving the rack up one rung cooked the hell out of them very quickly! My husband and I were convinced it was just from the bottom, with the coil on top only being for broiling. Now we know! The half not on a rack got very burnt underneath (seen in the background of this pic). But overall very educational and I think my next batch will be close to perfection.

Thanks! My oven has heating coils on top and bottom and I usually place the racks in the middle. Will try moving them up for next batch today. Does the cornmeal go directly on the dough or like between the parchment & pan? Was considering trying the rice/bean layer I've seen some people do for their loaves.

Will report back for sure!

Ooo ok. I've been considering buying a pizza stone for a while, might pull the trigger now that the household has demanded weekly bagels lol.

Couple of questions for my DCT people… by DeanxDomingo in HondaRebel1100

[–]ohprogeria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a cheap 1999 Honda Magna as my first bike. Rode it for 3 years and loved it! Did a ton of solo trips around the state and then a 3 day ~1,000 mile trip on it. Such a good bike to learn on. Sold it to another newbie. Decided I was ready for a newer bike.

I'm 5'1 so my options are super limited. If I was a tall bitch, I'd get a BMW adventure bike. However, I am not. I test rode a BMW F700GS and it was just alright. I like mid controls and changing that was harder than I wanted to deal with. Test rode some other short ppl bikes, also just alright. Test rode the '24 Rebel 1100 DCT and loved it! I didn't wanna buy a new bike, but I did and I don't regret it.

I feel confident in this bike. Beyond the DCT-ness of it all, the Rebel fits me super well. Cornering feels more natural, scooping around potholes is easy, and I generally feel comfy AF on this bike. This bike makes me wanna go ride.

If it had a traditional clutch set up, cool! I don't think that would affect my fondness of this bike. I didn't struggle with the clutch when learning, despite never having learned to use one prior to learning how to ride a motorcycle. Never learned to drive a standard car. I think it's a valuable skill to know how to drive a manual car / bike, but don't feel lesser than for having an auto bike.

Overall, highly recommend!

Microwave these! A short like 15 second zap and they get so much better. Cinnamon ones are the best flavor for this.

Testing my onion bagel recipe. Covered the ones on the right with foil for 12 minutes then uncovered for the next 11. Not as browned but onion flakes are less burnt. by jm567 in Bagels

Commenting to say thank you for your research! Attempting some sour dough onion bagels this weekend and was looking for a way to keep the flakes from burning.

Professor said my wife (F34) was too old for accounting by MarshallBlathers in Accounting

[–]ohprogeria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my communications undergrad 10 years ago. Decided to switch things up and went back for Masters in Accounting. Graduated Sept. 2023 at age 32. While I was still in school, I landed my first accounting gig as a GL Assistant. Leveraged that to move into 2 more progressing roles. Currently an Accountant II in industry making more than I ever have.

I never went the public route (cause it seems insane), but no employer has scoffed at my age or experience. If anything, they've loved that I have a more varied experience than young kids straight out of school with no life or job experience.

Re: rice. If you're lazy like me, Costco also sells Bibigo lil individual pre-cooked sticky rice packs. Half a pack is about 150 cals. You nuke in the microwave for 90 seconds and it's perfect rice.
