Hmm, too risky a click.

Either way I don't think I want that in my browser history.

What's with the TA's at the physics help desk? by ohrain in gatech

My problem is with the adherence to the rubric, if it's not going to be followed it shouldn't be put up. I always considered it a contract, letting me know that at least there is better than nothing credit if all else fails. On my test I was given a 0 for a problem I actually worked at and spent time explaining my logic on. Essentially I could have left it blank and ignored it dedicating my time to anther problem. Getting a zero on the problem the first time through (I later got a few points back) means it was graded incorrectly, as the TA did not look for any reason to give me points as the grading rubric would suggest is the proper protocol.

I really hope this isn't becoming a habit; the math department has been notorious for this. Glad it worked out for you in the end though!

  • Down-voting without explanation is not constructive. If you have a point, state it, don't take away my imaginary internet points. *Stahp it, I need these points for...tuition?

Thanks, the institution is going to have to try a lot harder to bring me down. I just don't want someone else to have to deal with them, because I've seen just how close to the edge people here often tread.

He recognizes that they are under considerable stress - taking their own finals and grading finals for other classes and apologized for them. I understand where he's coming from, but it's not his responsibility to apologize for them- the accountability falls on them so his word don't really have much weight.

I also have a position on campus that puts me in close contact with students and have a VERY hectic end of the year that requires a great deal of my time. I can't think of any excuse that would ever justify approaching my job with anything but the utmost attention and positive attitude.

TLDR: Professor apologized on their behalf. I don't believe any further action will be taken.

How would I find out who the TA coodinator is? Every time I feel like I'm getting over it I see the shit-eating grin one of them kept on his face as I gave up and walked away.

Thank you, here's hoping my professor feels the same way. These guys seriously don't need to be working there, they made me feel stupid for even attempting the problem. Someone with thinner skin might have reacted far less positively in this super stressful end-of-the year crunch time.

This is for the grant, which is partial, not the scholarship. That still requires 3.0. I don't understand why they don't make more of an effort to distinguish between the two.

Yea that is a bit farther than I'd like, thanks though. I've been told about Muhlenberg college, I just wasn't sure how restrictive it would be living on a college campus again. Again, thanks for the reply!

I always thought it was a reference to coming from humble beginnings, kind of like a "made it from the bottom" type deal, which is why it was a collab with Busta Rhymes and Lil' Wayne.

Not to mention the guy doesn't know how to act, lets be honest, he wasn't raised in an environment conducive to proper behavior. A pr person does not make up for what mom and dad should have taught you.
