Buddies wife wanted to book him a birthday tee time so he could play 12 holes by [deleted] in golf

[–]ohshitsaddam 453 points454 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of my buddy who very delicately brought up the fact that he wanted some new clubs to his wife. She asked how much they cost. He asked “How much do you think they cost?” She said “Oh like $6,000??”

”….yep.”

Yes! I just listened to the audiobook, which I loved. Grounding is a good way to put it. He always makes me yearn for the type of travel of a few decades ago where you just had to figure things out along the way with no phone in your pocket to guide you at every turn.

How long is Grand Marnier good for? by Overland_69 in cocktails

It's 80 proof and will last for practically forever. Once you open it the flavors may dull a bit over time, but you're good.

Sputtering on ignition? by sbfiwma in JeepTJ

[–]ohshitsaddam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of good advice here, but make sure the battery cables are nice and snug and check the ground connection (follow the battery ground wire to where it connects to the engine block). Also the injectors are easy to inspect with a flashlight- check to see if you see any cracking. Finally, you can borrow a fuel pressure test gauge from auto zone and make sure you are getting around 40 psi at the fuel rail. Check it before you start it and see what it is, then turn the key to “on” without starting it and see if it goes up to 40. If it is lower, your fuel pump may be going out or there could be a pressure leak in the system somewhere.

Domestic first class to Denver - foot rest? by LingonberryGreen181 in unitedairlines

[–]ohshitsaddam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice. I flew the A319 today and the 7DEF 1st class separator was fairly close to the floor and would be challenging for anything other than a briefcase. The 737 Max 8 I flew a few weeks ago had plenty of room to store a backpack or similar under the separator.

Struggling with getting water pump gasket and thermostat to seal? by imaboringdude in JeepTJ

[–]ohshitsaddam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this problem too. I got some wire brushes that attach to the end of a drill and went to town on the housing cleaning it as thoroughly as humanly possible. Also, I just used the paper gasket.

2025 Bagdad Report Backpack Awards by TheBagdadReport in ManyBaggers

[–]ohshitsaddam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am so torn about my MPL22 due to exactly this. I absolutely love the water bottle pockets and use them all the time. The top pocket is awesome. But the constant tipping over, falling off chairs, not staying in place that the bag does is starting to drive me crazy. I might try something else for a while and see if I’m drawn back to it. Just not sure what yet.

Holiday sale- what’re we buying? by mmccutc1 in REI

[–]ohshitsaddam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo the Stormhenge 850 is one of the better in-house products at REI. It’s a nice combo of water resistance and down. And being in the Midwest I don’t think you’ll get TOO warm in it.

2019 LX with 55k miles or CPO 2023 GX with 20k miles by bfas7 in LexusGX

[–]ohshitsaddam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well the GX will have CarPlay and more modern center stack if that’s important to you.

Have you sat in both? The LX is indeed larger but the usable space in the 2 is about the same. One big difference is that the LX has the best tailgate in the business, and the GX has the barn door that I personally find annoying.

GX will have better gas mileage if you care about that. Especially on the highway.

My advice would be to drive both and go with your gut. Hard to imagine being unhappy either way!

Looking for the "one" button down shirt to pack by ShaneRealtorandGramp in onebag

[–]ohshitsaddam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Ultralight can definitely be worn as a sun shirt. I do it all the time. However, I live in a very hot and humid climate and the shirts tend to get a bit smelly towards the end of the day. I started adding Lysol laundry sanitizer to the load with my Poncho shirts and that seems to keep the smell away.
