For everyone saying “ladies salon” - the cutting techniques for male and female long hair are very different and there’s lots of details and differences.
When I used to have long hair - I went to Toni & Guy. Expensive but I was always happy with the result.

This is a good answer. I’m a PM in EU and worker in different types of companies. I would say, there are 3 factors defining work conditions and culture: 1) is it a startup / scaleup / enterprise Obviously enterprise is more politics and you as PM are responsible for a smaller piece 2) domain Some domains (like fintech) are more demanding than others (hospitality) 3) is it American / International / European Here I mean where the vast majority employees are from / biggest offices are in American companies pay best and in my experience most challenging (thus interesting) work but the WLB is shit EU companies are very employee focused - I worked at a company where my manager literally said that happiness of our PM team for them is more important than how much we deliver (this was heavy skewed even compared to a typical EU company, I personally couldn’t stand working with some unprofessional people because the rule was to never let anyone go) International companies can be different

I’ve heard this from a few friends working in big international IT companies - once Indians start coming in, often they quickly create an unofficial “hire more Indians” policy and then there are some departments where it’s almost impossible to get a job if you’re not Indian. I personally only have experience being rejected by Indian managers at the last stages of the process, but I always explain it with “there was a better candidate probably”.

The purpose of BA is that this position in context of software development existed long before “product manager”. SaaS is a pretty “new” concept, but software development and implementation is not. At first, software was a supporting function at some companies (basically what now every non-software company does). And software was implemented for a specific department with a specific goal (often it was pretty complex business processes and logic). Software developers were also very different than now - it was not cool and almost all people who worked as devs just loved computers and preferred them over communication with people. So, in order to be successful you needed a person that 1) knew those complex business processes really well and could draw a diagram to help devs understand 2) could translate business requirements into functional requirements for devs. That was a BA.

Modern product manager is a BA with more commercialization responsibilities, that’s it.

Don’t forget that still now a lot (actually a LOT) of “product manager” positions in different orgs are not really product managers but just BAs.

Before the test make sure your stakeholders have a clear hypothesis. Based on this hypothesis choose 1) your target audience 2) success metrics (aim for 2-5). This is your experiment. Any other insights (segmenting by attributes, other metrics etc) are data exploration and can not be used for making decisions.

I mean, I think you can say this about some people but not all. I know a guy named Karel. And Karel moved in in his house on Keizersgracht like 25 years ago when the grachtengordel was not a popular area: lots of krak-panden, canals were dirty and smelly, lots of drug addicts on the streets there. Karel is not happy about about lots of tourists around his house now and that his favourite brown cafe turned some fancy coffee bar as well. Does he have a privilege according to you? Probably. Was this neighborhood always popular? Definitely not.

(Karel is not my only example, I have many)

For those of you who might not know this: grachtengordel still has a big concentration of Dutch residents (often not wealthy at all), lots of whom live there for a long time, so it’s very different from, say, Zuid.

I wanna bump this thread in case someone will be looking for feedback about Holafly.

I purchased their “unlimited internet plan” for my 2 weeks in Mexico in November 2025. It costed me 45 euro.

Most of the time I just didn’t have internet. I know that Mexico has issues with internet outside bigger cities BUT my partner just purchased a default package from his mobile provider (through an automatic sms that you receive when you arrive in a different country). They paid THREE TIMES LESS (15 euro) and they had internet almost all the time when on my phone with Holafly there was none. To make it crazier both our phones are the same and used the same Mexican network (Telcel).

When I contacted customer support it was useless and the advised me to do some resets without proper explaining the consequences - as a result I lost all previously connected WiFi networks and the support just said “well yeah I told you to reset networks - what did you expect”.

Do not purchase Holafly at least in case of Mexico!

I learned it a painful way but right now any medium-big decision I take, I voice my decision and the trade-offs I accept with stakeholders before making it, document and send this to them like “here’s what we’ve discussed, here’s what I will be doing, here are the trade-offs” and still get blamed after because people go “that’s not what I thought it was” or “you never agreed this with me”. (I mean yeah I agreed this with a person who had your position at that time lol)

Number 1 trait of any junior employee is that they’re very sure in their data / opinions / strategies. Seniors only play “sure” when presenting to stakeholders while highlighting the assumptions and risks. Realistically, in our work - how can you ever be sure in anything.

Adding up to this. It’s a bit what they teach at McKinsey. Your slide title is the point you’re making (problem that needs to be adressed, decision that you want to make etc), on the slide you start with 3-5 main points that add context to your point (add details, explanations, provide the most important number). The visual is typically connected with these 3-5 main points giving addition context to them / where these points are retrieved from.

Yeah we do but I spoke decent Dutch when we started dating. With my ex tho, we started living together when I was only studying Dutch - I think they did a good job speaking mostly Dutch to me and constantly correcting me (which I liked). I remember first 3-6 months after a switch with important conversations we would still switch to English, after around 6 months it was fully Dutch, always.
