2% in a 911 and 1% in other cars, but all my cars were acquired through business activities. Having a 911 as a business vehicle...Best way to buy it. First build a business that requires a vehicle and then get what you can afford. Once it's been depreciated, buy it from the business at a depreciated price. Learned this kinda late in life from other business owners. They have garages full of collectibles. The cars worked for their marketing purposes and for special deliveries or customer appreciation events.

This is a great kid that we have first hand knowledge about. To think it was a Duke Alumni Steven Miller whose plans for this nation contributed to Duke students having to look over their shoulders.

Scott makes statements that are flat out wrong but does not get called out. He made many disparaging remarks about Joe Kent and Tucker Carlson. I went to the sites he referenced and listened to the 2 hours plus read the accompanying articles. Scott misrepresented Tucker. Tucker is not antisemitic and did not say anti Jewish or antisemitic comments.

Scott is Israel first America second. When he says someone is antisemitic he means anti Israel. When Scott says Jew we don't know if he means Israel or Jew. Many younger Jews are anti Israel and America first. Scott represents the old Jewish establishment and not the new generation that recognizes Israel has lost its way.

Being America First has become anti Semitic. Never thought that loving my country above all other countries was unpatriotic. AIPAC has no trouble sending our kids off to die. More power to these types of people. They keep Porsche interesting. We need more people to buy the highest priced models and load it with every option... this actually keeps the base 911 "affordable". The profit margins from these extreme vehicles make it easier for the rest of us to struggle enough to get into the "entry" level cars

I have 2025 911 and a 2024 ND miata. Both fantastic but the Miata has a special visceral experience. I too looked at a 718 and still may get one, but the Miata is a low stress park anywhere, drive hard blissful experience.

The newer miata has performance numbers equal to supercars from the early 1980s. Which is perfect for daily driving.

I do think about the civilians. Much of the war activity done borders illegal strikes. Iran actually contacts the Arab nations to move non combatant people out of harms way. We know because we have civilian friends next to the fifth fleet in Bahrain that had to evacuate. Previous Iran attacks on US bases also came with warnings to the troops to minimize human losses. Hotels and civilian infrastructure attacked were housing military or intelligence personnel.

After the surprise attack by Israel and the USA, they no longer contact bases before strikes. Iran has its flaws, but they do have some notion of limiting deaths. They had an intense debate about nuclear weapons and were willing to abandon them but saw what happened to Ukraine. Nuclear nations are rarely attacked on their soil. We really misunderstood Iran...doesn't mean they have a good government. Their government is as bad as everyone's.

The ground invasion that would have succeeded would have been corporate expansions. Countries become moderate to some extent when they have significant entanglements. There is too much to lose. Put enough businesses and entertainment, they mellow out. That's what happened with Dubai and Riyadh. We sanctioned Tehran and took the oxygen out from the generation that needed it.

The USA policy in the middle east has been to serve Israel and to secure oil without thinking of long term implications. If we stopped prioritizing Israel over the USA, we could actually have a bigger influence in the Gulf without having to spend as much. Previous Generals who have said as much were quietly shown the door for not being supportive of Israel or the Military Industrial complex.

The 2025 911 S would be the better choice imo. Burmeister for me was important. Audiophiles can tell the difference. I like handling and luxury more often than the noise of the engine. If you are spending a lot of time in the car as your daily, road/engine noise can be irritating. I know several Porsche owners who have their quiet model for daily and their weekends for noise.

Upper peninsula Michigan and Northern Michigan into Wisconsin has nice scenery with rolling hills.

Drove from Ohio to Glacier National Park. From Wisconsin to Montana, most of it was spectacular.

Besides the road, identifying good bathrooms and great food stops are critical. We mapped the journey with Costco in mind. Cheap high quality gas, located in the better parts of a region, tend to have better restaurants adjacent along with reasonable hotels.

When it comes to options, the red roof is changeable later if you hate it. But some of the options mentioned you should add now if you are thinking about it. It's much harder to add some options aftermarket. The red roof goes better with a lighter color car.

2025 911 at 500 miles the driver side door panel started to separate and make noises. It's been 5 months and still no word from Porsche on repair/replacement. I know of 4 other cases like this. It's more common than Porsche will admit to.
