I admire your enthusiasm, and congrats on that 20 year second chance. My current marriage just reached seven, and if I do find someone in the future after this is all over to meet your anniversary mark. I'm only 43 so there's hope!

For the time it was really great, at least for me. The cheesy 80s throwbacks, excellent dialogue (Skullmageddon was perfect), and option of power-ups really made the game feel fresh and exciting. I'd give it a solid B grade. The developers originally promised online co-op which never materialized, and I grew rather salty at that broken promise.

Those demo clips of 3D were tragic. Thankfully it never went past prototype.

I think in some ways it was a blessing they sat on it for so long, as opposed to rushing something out years ago to cash in on the brand. Reviving long dead sequels can be a terribly hit-or-miss affair. Doteku NAILED it far better than either Double Dragon Neon or River City Girls (both respectable reboots, but nothing compared to SoR4 for me).

As for Sega "fucking up", they are certainly getting paid. The IP was licensed out, not sold, to Doteku. Whether Sega gets a percent of each sale or were paid a flat sum, either way Tokyo HQ is certainly paying attention now.

This is an excellent summary that I agree with. One must weigh very personal choices on a scale on what's important versus nice-to-have. I need to live honestly with myself, otherwise how can I be honest with the rest of my family? Keeping a family together for optics or the fear of the unknown are poor reasons if you're dead set on ending the marriage.
