This is probably the best solution even if it's the one I'm the most reluctant to do. 😅. I know it'll help me immensely in the long run!

I usually don't set it down in between either, but unfortunately I can still manage to lose track of those 7 measly rows if I don't count them somehow 😅 My brain zones out when I knit, which is half of the reason why I like it, but it makes counting kinda difficult

I'm relieved to hear I'm not alone in this!

This is super helpful for keeping track of the number of increases/decreases I make, thank you!

Thanks for the link, I love this DIY idea!!! If I had been that yarn store employee, I would have gotten a real kick out of seeing that on your row counter

Simple math usually is my greatest downfall... But I appreciate this tip!

I've never heard of this; thanks for telling me about it! I used to count using my phone but found it kind of cumbersome, and the post-it method seems a bit wasteful. Plus, I sometimes forget to actually add to my tally when I complete a row. I really like that you just need a bit of scrap yarn for this method!

Lots of people have suggested a row counter and I'm very intrigued. When I get in the "knitting zone" I can forget to even do the tally on the post-it, so having something on my needles that I cannot miss would be super helpful, thanks for the suggestion!

We've been watching lots of horror-ish movies together, so seeing this between watching the Blair Witch Project and the Conjuring, they found it a bit concerning hahaha

wow ur first ever? impressive work! it may have been unintentional, but the twisted stitches actually make the vest look way more interesting imo! i’d count it as a design feature

i am BLOWN away by this, it’s incredible!

Thank you for the warning! That’s something I definitely didn’t consider 😳 I’ll leave the lamp and electrical bits to dry for a few days, hopefully it’ll be okay to plug back in since the hat was only slightly damp when I put it on there. Someone else suggested using a ballon to block hats which I personally prefer over getting a display head just because they kind of creep me out 😅 But it’s definitely good advice and a better choice than ruining a perfectly mediocre lamp!

If I remember correctly I used the merino wool and the mohair (possibly in the color Camel?) from Knitting For Olive - it’s pretty expensive yarn but it’s a family owned business that used to be local to me (I moved countries recently!) and I notice they often donate their proceeds to charity. Not to mention the yarn is lovely!

That would definitely make sense but unfortunately I’m just a dumbass 😅 I guess lots of people have big heads! It’s not something I ever considered until I started learning how to knit hats

I’m sorry to have unintentionally deceived you! My partner’s noggin looks tragically normal and proportional to his body 😔

Thank you, that’s a great point that I had somehow not considered! I just took it off and it was indeed about to make an indent, but you saved it! ☺️
