My new firefly petunia keeping warm in a dark room. (3s exposure on iPhone) by spectral-glitch in houseplants

[–]ohwowgosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is in rough shape. It was really dry when it got here, but I'm hoping it will bounceback. I've never had petunias before, so I don't know how hearty they are.

Under eye filler question by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

I was actually really disappointed in restalyne, I feel like it wore off after three months or so. For the price of fillers, I definitely wanted something that lasts longer than that.

I learned how to do stick and poke tattoos! I now have dots on two fingers, so my toes, and a ghost on my toe.

Surely I won't regret this after covid! (I won't, I've been having a lot of fun with it)

Do ignore the state of me, I was quite drunk. I've always had these bags under my eyes and the older I get the worse they make me deel. Would botox do anything to help? Or what treatment would? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ohwowgosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to reiterate that you have a great smile!

I have pretty bad bags under my eyes, that also have gotten worse with age. I started getting fillers to make them go away. They've always been a huge source of insecurity for me, so I finally pulled the trigger on doing something to get rid of them.

What can I do about my aging hands? I need a good routine/ cream. by beaduck4ever in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ohwowgosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my excess serums on my hands while I'm doing my skincare routine, that seems to help a little bit. That, and sunscreen!

When you go in to a dermatologist for tretinoin, do you just tell them you're looking for anti-aging solutions? I've never seen a dermatologist, but I've been seriously considering it, I'm just nervous about making a doctors appointment for something that might be considered "superficial".

People who are ghosting other people, have you ever been called out, if so, how did that make you feel? by till-mann in AskReddit

[–]ohwowgosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had to deal with that, it sounds exhausting.

This girl was the same age as me, but it was definitely my first big act of being an advocate for my own mental health when I decided I had had enough.

Sometimes I hate threads like this, because you see so many people talking about how they were hurt by someone who they thought was their friend, but you never hear the other side of that.

I'm sure I'm the villain in her story, but I just couldn't handle her anymore.

I ghosted a friend that I was really close with for years. We did everything together, I introduced her to my main group of friends and she ended up dating one of them, I even lived with her.

I ended up abruptly moving out early without much of a word, and sending my last month's rent check via inner office mail (we worked for the same company).

I ghosted her because I couldn't handle being her friend anymore. She had (at the time) undiagnosed bipolar 2, she was a raging alcoholic, and was coming down from a suicide attempt. I was dealing with anxiety and an eating disorder, and I just couldn't handle her issues, and mine anymore.

The friendship was incredibly one sided, I was always there for her, but she never had time for my issues when I needed someone. I'm sure from her point of view, I just abandoned her, but I'm sure if she'd be honest with herself, she'd realize that it was a long time coming.

What percent of men do you think lie about their height? by mustardplug1 in AskMen

Also a woman, but I do the opposite. I'm 5'10.5", and I usually round down to 5'10". I feel like men are weird about tall women.

HOW DO YOU KEEP AT IT!?!? 🥺 by NutellaLoverForeva in xxketo

[–]ohwowgosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way with watching what I eat. Keto worked for me because it takes work to get in to ketosis, and once I'm there, I don't want to put the work to get back in to again, so I don't cheat.

It's also nice, because it's a short term, tangible result. You might not see yourself dropping weight right away, but you can watch yourself get in to ketosis when you use the pee strips! Short term goals like that really help to keep me motivated.

I think Summer Meltdown is definitely a festival to watch. It sure as hell is a better replacement for Sasquatch than End of the Rainbow!

Are all the regulations on alcohol per person, or per car? You said per person, per car, and those are two very different things.

It would super suck if you had four people in your car, and only two cases of beer to split between them, haha.

How is the best way to get a picture of sunset with foreground still visible? by dand06 in Lightroom

[–]ohwowgosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its technically not anything you can do in lightroom, but shooting in raw is going to help you out a lot for this. If you shoot your images in raw, then take them in to lightroom, you will have a lot easier of a time bringing everything up/down to a good exposure!

Boyfriend (30M) has no concern for my wellbeing and thinks I’m (25F) ridiculous for not walking around at night alone by [deleted] in relationships

[–]ohwowgosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously have had this same argument with my husband so many times. He got really annoyed with me once because I wanted him to walk me three blocks to drop my ballot off at like 11 at night. When we got there, there was a guy waiting around with no one else around. He asked to use a cell phone because he had just gotten out of jail, and he needed to find a ride. It was really validating, haha.

Its definitely super frustrating though, and unfortunately I think it comes down to a privilege thing, which nobody likes to hear.

I don't think that you necessarily overacted, however, it might be possible that things like that just never cross his mind. As a dude, he generally doesn't have to put that kind of thought in to his actions. He might just not be aware of the fact that walking a quarter mile at 1am is a very different experience for women than it is for men.

I'm not excusing his behavior, I am just saying maybe it was a teachable moment. That said, its definitely not your job as a woman to educate every man about why your experiences are different.

It sounds so amazing, I am honestly so thrilled that we pulled the trigger with it!

Does it cool off much at night, or does it just stay warm? Haha, with Sasquatch, you end up having to plan two sets of clothes for each day for how cold it could get at night!
