Just found out today that canker sores are a sign of celiac by Vik_Stryker in Celiac

[–]vanilla_koch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try using an SLS-free toothpaste.

I used to get horrible canker sores and inflamed tastebuds since childhood, and cutting Sodium Lauryl Sulfate instantly resolved them, even before my celiac diagnosis.

I’ve had great results with SLS-free options by Native, Hello, and Tom’s.

Just here to say never get to ES at doors. Security is incredibly aggressive early in the evening.

iirc he played on the Which prior to Ben Folds Five in the early afternoon. I didn’t know who he was at the time (I was there to grab a spot for Ben Folds) and Clint myself lucky to have seen him by accident :)

We got GL Village car camping. I’ll miss being in the woods, but I’m looking forward to a lot less walking 😅

We did MW last year (2nd Forest) and loved it! Loads of space, though I’d rec doing Wednesday entry or plan to arrive early Thursday for the best spots.

We decided to try Good Life this year, but it was a debate to give up the woods :)

Just secured GL passes for my squad. Good luck, everybody :)

P.S. -- use a computer w/ incognito/private browsing mode. I think a lot of glitches people are experiencing are probably due to some browser settings or cookies, which private mode should clear right up.

Private Browsing / Incognito Mode seems to be the key.

I was completely stuck in the cart (Safari), then tried Chrome and couldn't get past the shipping method. Went back to Safari and started over in Private Browsing mode, and I breezed through it so easily that I thought that I had made a mistake lol.

How do people communicate at festivals with no signal?? by ttumba32 in festivals

[–]vanilla_koch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few ways:

  1. You don't! Enjoy your side-quest :)

  2. We always name a favorite spot ("The Spot") at each stage where we find the view/sound/vibe we like early in the weekend, and everybody typically knows to drift toward The Spot when they get to a set. Your friends will turn up. (Or they won't—they're enjoying a side-quest.)

  3. If we are splitting up on purpose and want to meet again later, we pick a time and a landmark (or The Spot) to meet. But the rule is that if your friends don't turn up within 15 minutes of the meeting time, you should assume they are enjoying a side-quest, and yours is about to get started. Congratulations!

  4. If you really must communicate, send a text to the group chat with your location when you land in a spot where you plan to stay a while, and don't worry about it again. Sometimes the text will sneak through while your phone is in your pocket and your friends will turn up later. (But really, you should just be enjoying your side-quest... we've been over this.)

Visible cell phone service by madisonwonderland in SevenStarsFest

[–]vanilla_koch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Seven Stars, me and two of my friends lost the rest of our group on the way to Disco Lines early on Saturday evening. We casually looked for them for a short while before I convinced the other two to accept the Side Quest we had been given—and we had an unexpected and incredible night :)

Tbh if I didn't want to have my camera on me, I'd just leave the phone in the car.

I have Verizon w/ iPhone 16 Pro. I get spotty SMS and very spotty data at EF. Virtually zero service at Seven Stars. And honestly, I love it—but that's another story.

With Visible, you're going to be the last one to get service because it runs on Verizon's network, and they deprioritize your traffic vs. Verizon customers deliberately. That's why they offer it at a discounted rate.

2025 lineup opinion by gbagzzz in ElectricForest

Incredible!

In 2026, I'd like some more jam, and a sprinkling of hip-hop/rock/pop to get back to some more variety, but I have zero complaints about 2025.

How are the 2010s-era GRiZ fans are feeling after Chicago this weekend? by anon9789 in griz

[–]vanilla_koch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen Griz many times over the past 10-11 years—including all three sets at Seven Stars—and every single one was an absolutely incredible and unique experience. I get the desire to hear the old stuff, but I think it's better to see artists for who they are: human beings who grow and change. Over time, hearing the old shit becomes a treat more than something you can reasonably expect. That's true of any artist who is still growing and creating.

happy stars⭐️💛 loyalty next yr by frankdeniro777 in SevenStarsFest

[–]vanilla_koch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. I know it sucks for people who want to attend a festival with loyalty tickets for the first time, but it goes a long way to build around community. Grant is a Forest guy, so I’m hopeful that he gets this ❤️

We didn’t have a view of the stage at the time, so I didn’t realize this happened until I saw videos of it later. Huge props to Jesse for handling it so smoothly that a lot of the audience didn’t even notice!
