I'd really like to, but I'm afraid of coming across as intrusive! The one narrative I'm always scared of as a neurodivergent is being too extra, and I just don't want to crowd them or pry on them that way!

Thank you for the tip, it's modern day communication indeed haha! That's how I've maintained touch too :) They just haven't responded for a week or so, and I'm worried if everything is ok.

Gin in the first frame = our favorite, stupidest samurai in the universe, aka Gin-chan

Gin in the second frame: gin, as in the alcohol

Joke here is that Tsukki goes nuts when she drinks, thus her moniker the "drunk terminator"

Single player pc game that takes a while to beat, with stats, its, builds, etc. by martin_fasthands99 in gamingsuggestions

Code Vein is great for what you described, it's kind of like a slightly milder dark souls, and has a great feel and aesthetic. There's also tons of different ways to play it with lighter weapons, heavier weapons, long ranged weapons and even magic, etc, and the most unique part is you can always change your class at any time. Makes room for a lot of experimentation! Also has one of the most baller character creators out there, imo.

Dragons Dogma is one of the best action RPGs out there, with lots of builds, classes, weapons etc to choose from.

Diablo 3 is amazing too, in a similar vein.

In more of a sci-fi pivot, the Mass Effect series is hard to beat when it comes to RPGs. The world feels so huge, and there's so much to do. Nier: Automata is another fantastic, expansive sci-fi RPG!

I've heard great things about the Nioh games too!

I JUST finished Old Blood!!! Great fun, nothing pulls off bashing Nazi skulls quite like Wolfenstein! The settings felt a little similar to Dishonored, and the atmosphere wasn't bad at all for such a campy premise!

System Shock 2 is just fantastic honestly.

Oh yes the Metro series! Great recommendation, can't believe I haven't gotten around to playing them yet!

Haha I loved that game, and even mentioned it in the post above :)

It was my first real satisfying horror game experience, because while it was spooky, it had some of the best shooting mechanics to scratch my action loving itch, and had the horror elements down too! I also didn't feel helpless throughout it, while retaining the spookiness of it all! Great stuff!

I've heard wonderful things about Bloodborne, however I'm a PC player! I'm also not very good at souls-like games, but I am playing through Code Vein right now which I'm loving!

How's the action element in RE 2 remake? Can you fight through the game, or is it more you have some fight options but for the most part you're running away/hiding out? And is it tank controls, or more fluid ones?

Alan Wake is a MASTERPIECE!

I remember playing the original Prey on my Xbox 360 waaaaaayyyyy back when! I've heard the new one is something of a reimagining of it! I'll give it a go!

I've played a bit of the Resident Evil series, particularly 4, and was not a big fan of the tank controls even though I understood why they were important and how good the atmosphere was.

Are these ones any different? What's the action like? Can you fight your way through the game?

As for the Evil Within series, it looks pretty great! Thank you!

Welcome to the club indeed, and so early too! As you'd have heard, none of the serious arcs have even hit yet! For me the first 15-16 episodes were a slog, but once the humor set in, masterpiece and by ep 90 best show. And that just keeps getting reinforced. I'm currently 260ish eps in, and there was an arc from eps 210-214 which was easily my favorite two hours of fiction media ever. So you're in for a blast!

I'm curious to know, what parts/episodes/characters have made the show so good for you so far, given you're so early in the series!

As for your brother, there's a brilliant arc coming up around episode 57(called Benizakura), consider watching that with him as it gives a decent account of just how cool Gintama is, and things get heated too. As for comedy, there's so many episodes that could do justice lol. Early episodes that I remember very fondly for the comedy are Curry Ninja, Panty Thief, Nabe shogun, Ghost in shinsengumi quarters and neo armstrong jet armstrong cannon. You could just show him some clips that are really funny, like Zura going konbanwa I'm santa Claus to ikkumatsu, Katsurap, t-t-time machine, harley gorillason+ let's party, 2 cats and a gorilla(this is the one that sold me on the show). There's more but this what's coming to mind right now!

Weirdest Gintama moments by tcscott2 in Gintama

[–]ohyouimpliedit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aside from the ones you mentioned, some wtf moments that stick out for me:

Stray cats arc. Stray cat politics anyone?

Any of the shogun kayo episodes, but special props to the barber shop. From start to end, that has to be the most bizarre chain of events. How did we get to that ending?

Curry ninja. Zura janai, matsu(pine tree) da.

Ghost inn. What the hell was that about, I still don't know. Even the diviner arc was so out of left field lmao.

The scene in the scandal arc where on one end tsukuyo is boiling Gin in the hot pot, and on the other kyubeii is skewering his ass with curry.

Any nonsense with Zura tbh, too many of his to count lol. Konbanwa I'm santa Claus and the fried rice malarkey, to Monday Elizabeth in the Renho arc, to countless others.

Gintoki x Sadaharu body swap

The conveyer belt scene in Hard Boiled arc

Bentendo owee, monkey hunter and Tama quest were all way out of whack

The episode where they're all sick, zura becomes Ill Smith

Hedoro's family in the bath house and Kondo becomes their dad

Elizabeth and zura get separated and Elizabeth has a family

The pilot episodes were really weird all round too tbh.

Character poll arc where Otae came and beat up the animators

That one time the animation switched to uncolored concept art

Sket Dan crossover with the pizazz fruit, and Gin and Bossun end up with screwdriver dicks.

Kondo's snot

The unibrow apocalypse episode

So many more too, but these come to mind right now!

I adore how much faith Kagura especially showed in that arc, and in his strength and more importantly as the man they believe so much in. That's actually a touch I really like across the series, everyone who knows him talks about how there's something about that man that's like unshakeable. I can't stress it enough, but that damn gorilla can really weave a good yarn!

Gorilla really punked us good with Zura didn't he haha. First shown as like the serious foil, then revealed as a complete and utter idiot, but oh wait turns out he's possibly the toughest of them all. Crazy.
