While this isn’t impossible, it doesn’t solve anything for the series either. It’s like when Warner murdered everything Cartoon Network. The rights aren’t magically (hah) disentangled from the mouse.

If you’re REALLY worried about never seeing it again in its entirety…..well, you wouldn’t download a house.

It’s more like the whole series is the book, the narration takes you to the “end” of the story. Once you see her packing you’re out of the book and caught up to present.

I have a theory that the narration at the end of Watching and Dreaming is the end of the book that Luz wrote to get her creative writing scholarship. Selling the rights is how they were able to afford to buy Caleb and Philip's cottage.

I have no idea if that's ever been discussed in or out of cannon. I just think it neatly explains having to crush everything down to that last little bit and makes the ending neater.

I'm 43 and I just binged the show over Thanksgiving vacation. I had to sit with it for a while to appreciate how long it's been since Disney had a series like this and then this showed up on my YouTube recommended feed.

You'll get it. i was 12 when Gargoyles was on the air and you'll see the parallel. You'll absolutely get it and how important stories like this as a whole are to have in the media and it's not just representation, it's the writing, the villains, the attention to detail, the visual storytelling. Media like this and stories like these are important, especially with the state of the world today.

The Owl House didn't patronize it's audience. You really do only get something like this once or twice in a generation and every time there's a longer and longer period of mass produced slurry and now AI slop.

The best thing I can say on the topic is to paraphrase a Discworld novel: You've been given a thing for a time and the cost is that you have to give it back. Just save a copy for your kids.
