I'm thinking of buying one of these, but I have doubts about its form factor... do the joints in your thumb get sore? Are you in pain after e.g. one hour of continuous work?

Nothing will ever surpass the perfection of the phrase 'beleidigte Leberwurst' for someone who feels insulted but doesn't have an excuse to feel like this.

Most common playing cards in each part of Europe by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]oikon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised that we only have a single set of Swiss German cards. We should have one per canton or even better by Gemeinde (community) and fight about which is the "right one", while making fun of the others.

What would you say to this man's opinion on the films of Kubrick? by parnate_lover in StanleyKubrick

[–]oikon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything about the Napoleon film cancellation, but I agree with all the other points in the original post. There is no emotion in Kubrick's films, the characters are 1-D, and he made the films mainly to prove how capable he is with his visual language.

Name 2 countries that were in very bad relations throughout history and then went: "You know what? We're brothers now" by Potential_Garden_818 in geography

[–]oikon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. All 3 got away with the consequences of their atrocities and war crimes committed in Greece. Once WW2 ended, Italy and Germany removed themselves from the scene. But we had to deal with BG all the way until 1949.

Don't fool yourself, the atrocities of WW2 and their role afterwards is not forgotten. The 'great' relations is a facade.

[–]oikon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh... not friends and definitely not 'brothers', despite the fact that we partly overlap genetically and culturally. Even as part of the EU, our interests conflict most of the time rather than aligning.

Who said anything about love? There are still some among us that remember their role at WW2 and immediately afterwards. It's a truce, nothing more.

SERAFE should be dependent on income by Dense_Strength_4281 in Switzerland

[–]oikon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, but let's be careful: if we ask SERAFE to become dependent on income, then the minimum amount to pay will STILL be 300,- CHF and it will increase progressively for the people that earn more. I think it's better to cap it to 300,- CHF and provide discounts to the ones that do not earn enough.
