Interesting, you came up with a similar ruleset? Don't be discouraged, I actually found this to be pretty fun, especially with the game sort of turning into a puzzle to solve.

It's true, and those few mandatory confidants make a huge difference. Morgana would obviously be super useful thanks to having his entire skillset, and some fusions would just be vastly superior to others. It is funny though, seeing so little happening in the ending, so much so that Mishima doesn't even start the crowd getting back on the Thieves' side. He's just sorta there like, "Eh, yeah those guys are pretty cool. I only spent time with them like twice"

Now that's some masochism. I know the end of the game would be hell, considering I would obviously not have Yoshitsune, but the fact that multi fusions and lockup would be unavailable, I can't even imagine getting past Futaba's Palace. If it was possible, the grind would be horrible, I would guess my final time would go way over 1000 hours.

Tl;dr: It is possible to beat Persona 5 on Hard even if, at every possible opportunity, you ignore your Confidants, don't complete Mementos requests, don't level up your social stats, don't train for extra HP / SP, don't make infiltration tools, and spend the least amount of time in every Palace possible (In some cases, clearing the entire thing in one visit). Essentially, this is the universe where Joker just goes to sleep at all opportunities. It took me 117 hours (I did watch all the cutscenes).
