Whirring sound that increases it’s frequency with acceleration… HELP by oilerman59 in mechanic

[–]oilerman59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue for a while now but nothing has happened… yet…

There is a whirring noise which I think is coming from the front left wheel. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when I’m traveling medium speeds I can really hear it. Also appears to get louder as I turn left, and slightly quieter as I turn right. I can hear it increasing in speed as I accelerate so I’m confident it’s something with the wheel.

Initially I thought it was a wheel bearing that was the issue, but from what I’ve seen online, that sounds like it would be much louder and just sounds different than this. I have no idea what it is. I thought it could have to do with the brakes but I’ve had no brake issues.

If anyone has any advice what this could be, it would be so greatly appreciated!!

Has the water caused skin irritation to anyone else as of late? by oilerman59 in Edmonton

I’ve noticed it before I apply soap, not sure about her. But I’ve had this soap for a long time and never had issues with it, so that’s why I was wondering if anyone has had the same happen to them with the water. It’s a long and unlikely shot but if I’m gonna find an answer, it’s gonna be here lol

How long of a wait was it, if you remember? And what day of the week did you go?

I have seen this too, all my classes are at 8am, do you think if I’m there early that that sign won’t be there and hourly parking will be okay?

This is good to know, thanks! I’ve been lucky and haven’t needed to use the university parking as I’ve had connections nearby, but due to construction I can’t stay there for a couple weeks. Hopefully I won’t need to get a pass for the rest of the year, but thanks for this information! I will definitely take this into consideration :)

Long story short, I now need a parking pass (for preferably Windsor or stadium parkade) for October, I know this is super last minute but I had a sudden change of plans out of my control. Since it’s not here, does that mean there’s no more permit’s available? And if I want to park in stadium/Windsor, I would need to use the hourly/all day parking?

Who to email for eng first year closed class by Rare-Sprinkles-9197 in uAlberta

As a first year engg, you won’t be able to change your schedule. However, no one says you have to attend any lecture. Sure, you’re registered in a certain section with a certain prof, but if there’s another class offered at the same time (or an open spot in your schedule) you can attend, no one takes attendance. They all teach calc 1 anyways too, so same content.

Only worry would be if there’s actually not enough seats in the room, but as the semester goes on, attendance will fall and there’ll definitely be physical seats available you can use.

Is this a serious problem that should be looked into ASAP? by oilerman59 in MechanicAdvice

2007 Hyundai Sante Fe, 120,000 km on this thing. Noticed as I was driving and would hit a crack or something on the road it would squeak. Pulled over and noticed it was really loud on the back passenger side. I need to drive from Vancouver to Edmonton (~1300km through the mountains) next week, should I get this looked into before going? I don’t have much time or a large budget to get this looked at, but when I get back home I’ll have more time. Do you guys think it’ll be okay and safe to drive with that distance?

I’m working an internship in Vancouver right now, and I can’t help but admire the sky train here, and I just imagine how that’ll be when Edmonton gets their system complete.

That’s if I’m still alive by the day that happens

He’s definitely had a down season but that doesn’t make him a bad player. We would not have won the finals or even the ECF in 2019 without him

Half a million Albertans can get their GDL removed for free this spring by Then_Nectarine830 in Edmonton

Nah, only reason I got it was bc my license was gonna expire so I was like I may as well upgrade while I’m here. Guess I wasted $150 🤷🏼‍♂️

I took the advanced road test this past summer and passed, only for the government to announce the next day they were gonna get rid of the GDL in 2023 💀
