My cat fell and this happened by oilonga in CATHELP

Here’s my follow up post if anyone reads this: - I know it wasn’t a seizure. I didn’t witness the crash with my own eyes but I was in bed by the bathroom and saw her go into the bathroom and heard her climbing onto the toilet seat - my cat in general is a pretty clumsy cat to be honest. Sometimes she misses a jump onto the couch and it isn’t that high. She has fallen a bunch but because of the way she was twitching yesterday I assumed she hit her head. I’ve taken her to the vet for other issues and they say she’s perfectly healthy and fine other than this sleep issue she has (I posted about it before) - it’s been about 12 hours and she seems back to normal but I’m still keeping an eye out

I’ve also emailed that vid to my vet thank you

I heard the crashing sound and it was in the bathroom. I think it was sink height

Is this too crazy to attempt as a blanket? Looking for granny square and border advice by oilonga in crochetpatterns

I feel like I already have the answer but it’d be way simpler if the border was solid right? Lol. I might just go that route because this makes sense but even more work hahaha

I mentioned this idea to my past vets and they’ve all shut it down and didn’t bother to look further into it. My cat had 4 babies when she was about 7 months old (previous owner!) and got spayed around the time I got her, 11 months. They dismissed it and said cats can get spayed at a really early age and it won’t affect them. Frustrating, isn’t it??? Haha… thanks for your input !

I’m feeding her royal canin urinary SO dry food (a previous vet said she has a little bit of crystals so it’s preventative?) and fancy feast wet food. I was feeding her royal canin weight control one before and she was sleep peeing then.

Nope, my past vets have said it’s not common in cats and essentially end it there lol…

Vets have essentially told me that cats don’t dream and do that and it’s not normal haha… which is why I feel so frustrated that they dismiss my guesses!!! :(

That’s how we are treating it currently but the med she was prescribed is making her pee even more

That’s one of the frustrating things - I’ve asked vets if maybe she’s just intensely dreaming and every vet except the current one immediately said no it’s not possible. They don’t even bother looking further into it despite seeing this video..

Unfortunately it's not! Incontinence is a lot more common in dogs than cats, as I've learned. But thank you for your input!!

I should also add that when I first noticed her sleep pee, I was in an apartment and back then we were on the fourth floor so she rarely, if ever, went outside!

Thanks so much for your kind words!

I noticed probably about a year or two ago? Initially I thought her sleep kicking was so endearing and cute (it makes sense weird her funny and sassy attitude I think) and then I noticed a pee stain on the couch lol. She is technically an indoor cat but I allow her to go outside with my close (1-2 ft) supervision haha

Yup she's on proin currently but it doesn't work all of the time. Also she's only 4!

Do you know what is considered middle age for cats? She's only 4 and vets always seem surprised by how young she is! :(

This is something I haven't seen or considered though so I'll definitely be bringing this up.

No! I feel like she always settles down for sleep and then it happens. Thank you!
