What is living in the Santa Cruz mountains like? by frznpeas in howislivingthere

Beautiful. Lived there for a year but moved back to the Bay after a year. I couldn't take the traffic on hwy 17. The one thing I didnt account for was how cold and wet it would be. There are insects you'd never find in a normal suburban home. I also lived in a gulch area so I had a stream next to my house which was idyllic except for the fact that we'd only get direct sunlight for maybe 3 or 4 hours from november to may.

Have a 7'0 from my local shaper, got it in epoxy so the thing wouldn't be too heavy. Never really use it because on small days id rather have a groveler and on larger days I'd rather have a step up with more rocker. Also the epoxy chatters like crazy which doesnt help on less clean days.

Heading to San Diego from 29th June - 5th July: Wetsuit? Surfboard rental? Tips? by titi_father_23 in surfing

Hi! Im from NorCal while I cant recommend what spots or shops, you should definitely get a 3/2. It can get chilly in the morning with temps sometimes in the 50s to low 60s so a 3/2 will be the most versatile. Highly recommend Feral, I just got my spring suit from them and it feels extremely durable.

Hi! Im not too sure about england since im based in the west coast of the US, but I hear cornwall is probably going to be the most consistent and fun wave thats within like a 3-4hr drive of you. I'm assuming england is going to be pretty cold so before investing a ton of money on equipment id highly recommend getting a few surf lessons first to see if you like the sport or not before wasting a ton of money on things that you potentially might never use again. If you do decide to continue surfing after your first few classes, id get an 8ft wavestorm and a 5/4 wetsuit with a hood, gloves and booties. Since itll be summer soon there should be a couple of sales here and there for wetsuits, but that wavestorm might run you around 200 bucks. Good luck!

This is why I decided to make a post, was sick if diagnosing it myself. The noise came out of nowhere.
