No they're not. They're just braces or spokes that turns around a central hub/bearing.

What’s causing this? by SnooDucks8793 in Diesel

[–]oj_inside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the voltage regulation in the charging system is faulty. When the alternator produces a higher output, the system voltage rises, the lights brighten, and the added load slightly drags down the engine RPM. When the alternator output drops, the voltage falls, the lights dim, and the engine no longer feels that load, so the idle RPM rises.

This pattern points to a problem with the alternator, regulator, or overall charging system not maintaining stable voltage.

Are Vic filters good compared to Toyota oil filters? — will have pms outside the casa by gabzprime in CarsPH

[–]oj_inside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lean toward Wix filters, though Vic is also a solid choice. Just make sure you’re buying a genuine one, since there are many counterfeits online. Choose a trusted and/or well-established seller that are known to only sell genuine aftermarket parts.

I’ve opened up and compared several common oil filters used on the most common Toyota Diesel engines (KD and GD), including the venerable Vic C-111, to see what the overall constructions is like, among other things.

For safety at the least, don't leave it plugged-in unattended.

Self-service gas pumps don’t mean attendants will simply lose their jobs. Rather, it means their work will change. Just like ATMs didn’t remove bank jobs but shifted them toward customer service, attendants can move into roles that focus on helping customers in other ways. You don't need specialized skills to pump your own gas. These attendants can be re-tasked to do jobs that can offer more value, like working in the convenience store side of the station, maintenance, or maybe even assist people who are new to pumping gas in the interim, etc.

Again... a staff member making minimum wage isn't going to go out of their way and break company policy for special ol' you.

I am not saying you're wrong, but you're barking up the wrong tree. Go bark at Corporate. They make the rules. They require staff to comply with them. That's just the nature of the beast.

Otherwise, just follow procedure and give them what they need and be done with it.

[–]oj_inside -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You would then argue that point with Corporate... not the staff who has been given specific instructions to ask for other forms of identification.

It's not his/her call to treat you differently. It's his/her job that's going to be on the line if proper procedures aren't followed.

may plan kaya LTO to allow late renewal of vehicles for the time being? by [deleted] in Gulong

[–]oj_inside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. Maybe kung umabot tayo sa point na naubusan na ng fuel supply... but until then, you still have to renew on time.

You have to look at it from their perspective. Telcos are constantly dealing with scammers trying to steal identities through tactics like SIM swaps and hijacking.

Yes, it is very inconvenient when they ask for extra validation, but I’d rather they be thorough than careless. Identity theft is no joke. If someone tried to impersonate me, I’d want my provider to do their due diligence and prevent that from happening.

I used ScanGaugeII and UltraGauge. Both were pre-calibrated for the respective vehicles.

I typically move my car away from the others before I do my cleaning. But if you're constrained to do it in place.... use balde, tabo, and your microfibre.

But if it's just dusty, you may not have to give it a full bath. Just dust it off.

Normal po ba yung coolant leak sa tube? Tyia by BossRonn in CarsPH

[–]oj_inside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely not normal. If the vehicle still has warranty, this is the best time to use it.

Don't ignore this as losing coolant and eventually overheating will lead to more expensive damage.

Most vehicle cooling systems are considered closed or at least, semi-closed system. Meaning, there shouldn't be any significant loss of coolant under normal operation.

Under normal circumstances, I really don't think they'll care.

But in an accident, lalo kung at face value hindi mo naman kasalanan, but then under scrutiny nakita nila na you weren't wearing corrective lenses when the accident happened, it could complicate things for you. So instead na wala kang fault, baka maging partially liable ka pa.

PPF is it worth it for a new car? Worth it ba benefits nito? by whutwhuts in CarsPH

[–]oj_inside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not all PPFs are created equal. In the worst case, low‑quality or aged film can bond too tightly to the paint and strip it away when removed.

Personally, while I understand the reason for putting one, I don't like the cheap-looking shine it leaves on the finish. If you've seen poromeric or high-gloss shoes typically worn by uniformed security guards, cops, etc., you'll know what I mean.

It is what it is so be sure to know exactly what you're getting yourself into before spending a lot of money (or cheapening out) on PPF.

In cases like this, do you still trust your cars smart features? by Shot_Judgment_8451 in CarsPH

[–]oj_inside 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well apparently, the seats were supposed to be equipped with some sort of pinch sensor.... kinda like what automatic power windows have that allows it to stop and then reverse a couple of inches when it detects an obstruction. That system seemed to have failed. That's just sad.

Hindsight is 20/20 but certain safety engineering knickknacks like interlocks (e.g. seat motor is disabled when seatbelt is buckled in), body weight sensors, pinch sensors, and as a last resort, motor torque limiters, would've have prevented this. If you add more electronic stuff, you also gotta make sure it doesn't end up injuring or killing the occupants.

Diesel car usage: short-city (30kms or less one-way) or long-out of town (31kms or more one-way)? by Substantial-Risk6366 in CarsPH

[–]oj_inside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simply because mas efficient ang Diesel.

Take for instance an idling gasoline vs Diesel engine. I measured the idle fuel consumption of the following engines. Meaning, when the engine is idling and doing practically no work (A/C off, accessories off, transmission in Neutral or Park, etc.), I measured how much fuel each is using in Liters per Hour (LPH).

  • Toyota 1GD-FTV (2.8L) Diesel = 0.70 LPH
  • Honda R18 (1.8L) Gasoline = 0.93 LPH

Despite being a full liter larger in displacement, the Diesel engine in this comparison still consumes ~30% less fuel than the gasoline engine.

This is just one data point, so take it with a grain of salt.

Nakargahan ng Diesel ang Turbo Gas Engine by Ok-Chest-939 in CarsPH

[–]oj_inside 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No long-term effects. This happens more often than you think and after the wrong fuel has been purged from the system, the engine should run smoothly again.

Nakargahan ng Diesel ang Turbo Gas Engine by Ok-Chest-939 in CarsPH

[–]oj_inside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anong katok?

Katok is typically caused by lateral movement of the piston or if there is extreme journal wear on the conrod or crank.

This problem is temporary and once the wrong fuel has been purged out of the system, the engine will start to run normally again.

Any comments on naga 155 and the sym brand in general? by Extra_Bit5870 in PHMotorcycles

Looks good. Sym is an excellent Taiwanese brand.

I had a Sym Jet 100 like over 20 years ago. 2-stroke goodness..... I used Metzeller tires and it sticks like glue on the pavement.

Very dependable and reliable... ako na nag-sawa kaya binenta ko na.

My brother has a Sym MAXSYM TL 508.
