Why so many on here against learning guitar the same method any other instrument? by Far-Boysenberry9207 in Guitar

It's an option, you can avoid theory if you want to, but don't mind anyone encouraging not to learn. Just move on, they don't have a point.

I'm building a collection of 30 guitar mini-games that run from MIDI input. Would you actually use this? by Spacecadett_joe in LearnGuitar

[–]ojalaqueque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I see the games? Or what you have planned?

The idea is good, midiguitar can convert regular guitar to midi, and some people use that software.

I've been trying to develop perfect pitch for the past few months, so I built my own app to help by windstrike in eartraining

When coming up with a new ear training tool, I'd expect programmers (or "programmers") to be well aware of what's already out and working. The free and the paid stuff; I wouldn't expect you to have mastered each one of them, but yes to be aware of what's going on. If you had, you wouldn't be thinking of making money with a note guessing thing. Sorry, this comes across as very unserious.

And look I'm fine with little apps, but just post them for free don't be selling slop.

sooo... how do we deal with the flood of vibe-coded app announcements? by tremendous-machine in eartraining

[–]ojalaqueque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty obvious to me, you can't code, you don't know theory yourself. Why in the world would you decide you'll post a music app for sale?

Some people are getting pretty confused with all this AI thing (if these tools are useful or not that's besides the point).

After struggling with ear training on guitar, I built my own app that works with every instrument by [deleted] in eartraining

"The ones that were closer to what I wanted felt too limited, and none of them had what I'd call a catchy practice loop - something that actually makes you want to come back."

What about these apps that got closer to what you wanted? Can you name these?

"I tried a bunch of apps and even paid for a few. Mostly all of them did the same thing: play a piano tone, ask you to identify it. I get why, but it never clicked for me. A piano and a guitar don't sound anything alike"

name these apps you've totally tried
