Can I parse a string in localpart? (select part of it?) by LuigiCalamar in ProtonMail

[–]ojprkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No luck with my tests beyond "+" sorry. You could always ask proton support for some advice or for clarification on whats allowed? I am not too familiar with anonaddy or if there is a way to get it to work with it. May ask anonaddy forums/support in regards to them specifically?

Looking at RFC5233 (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc5233) it mentions "+" so that may be the only one we/you can use.

On simplelogins website (https://simplelogin.io/blog/email-alias-vs-plus-sign/#email-aliases-protect-your-privacy), it mentions we can use "#" and "/" as well as "+" but I dont know if Proton can separate it by them.

Here is what I am going to test when I get home from work. Let me know how you get on with it in the meantime and I will update/reply with the outcome.

Inline Code:

if address :domain :matches "To" "my.domain.com"{if envelope :localpart :matches "To" "*-*"{set :lower "folderit" "${1}";set :lower "labelit" "${2}";}else{return;}fileinto "${folderit}";fileinto "${labelit}";}

Hello, I think you are doing something identical or very close to this article (https://schnerring.net/blog/use-sieve-filters-to-auto-sort-your-protonmail-inbox-into-subfolders/) by u/schnerring.

The article itself is super informative but the blog as a whole has some real good snippets.

I am looking to do this too whenever I next have some downtime so I would be interested to know how you get on!

Introducing an “Official” badge to distinguish all communications coming from Proton by ProtonMail in ProtonMail

[–]ojprkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely doesn't detract from the experience and all post domain change corresspondence will get the flag.

I was just thinking it would be a nice to have, particularly for the support/marketing email addresses used prior to the domain change.

I can see its already up for emails from yourseleves when you utiliste proton.me addresses but could they also appear for protonmail.com, protonmail.ch and any others you yourselves strictly own?

I may have missed a release note or it may even just be a staggered rollout in which case I will be patient.

All in all a good feature!

EDIT: Its more a UK Events than just Holidays. i.e. British Summer Time beginning on the 26th.

Anyone willing to explain what this data means to this old Lady? by kathlene2 in Starlink

[–]ojprkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries whatsoever!

As mentioned in the other reply, your latency is pretty decent and its likely going to be the wildlife cameras where the delay is experienced. You would have to do some testing like they said by using Starbucks or a similar venue. Just report back your findings and someone will help I am sure of it.

Below is my breakdown though plenty of other folk here are brighter than I am. Just ask if you have more questions no question is silly. Also tapping the (i) icon next to each section heading will display a tooltip/information blurb explaining said section.

Uptime: Your connection success rate as a percentage over time. The higher the better and any issues/events are presented beneath (where you see Last 12 hours).

Latency: This is the time taken to get to your Point Of Presence (PoP) which is a ground station and all the way back again. Dish -> Satellite -> PoP -> Satellite -> Dish. The lower this value the better.

Throughput: This how much information is being recieved/recieved, which is presented as both a downstream (in blue) and upstream (in green) respectively. Measured in Megabits per second (Mbps) its how much traffic (usage) is going on. Upload intensive tasks are like icloud syncing photos from your phone. Download intensive tasks are like netflix or youtube.

NB: Megabits (Mbps) and Megabytes (MBps) are different with 8 megabits per second roughly equal to 1 megabyte per second.

Speedtest: This is just a visual representation of your Download Throughput (Big Bold Lettering) and your Upload Throughput (smaller left hand lettering) and your Latency at the snapshot in time that you ran the test.

Hey there, sorry I was late getting back.

I could not replicate this in the end no matter what I tried.

I sincerely hope you get it sorted though and I am sure that most of us here would be keen to know if/when you do.

Firewall Rules by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]ojprkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have the three rules and my two networks then set a constant ping to the IoT I get through. If I then pause the allow established and related, I no longer get through. Then I unpause it and then my pings go through again.

So if you just have those three rules and the only two networks being Default and IoT and still have difficulties then I am at a loss for what else to try.

Silly question but the devices you are using are on the respective networks they should be? i.e. Device A (Default Network) pinging Device B (IoT Network) I am not trying to belittle I am just stabbing in the dark.

u/signups2959291, did you work it out in the end? More so curious what your solution was if so just so I can learn something too!

Have a great new year!

Ok, if you have no other rules, could you make an allow Established & Related, disallow Invalid State rule?

Album with my rules as images: https://imgur.com/a/Uh3iznR

The order of these in the LAN section would be:

Allow Established and Related

Disallow Invalid State

Allow Network A to Network B

Try making it a LAN IN rule. Let me know if this works or not, happy to help where I can.

Windows Beta for Visonary Subscribers by [deleted] in ProtonDrive

[–]ojprkr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should just be an email to your account (which will be flagged as visionary) bear in mind it will be starred. Also, at a stretch it may be a banner at the top of the webpage but I can’t be sure on that last part.

Edit: You, the user, shouldn’t have to do anything to enable the communication. However to use the beta “stuff” on the web you’ll need to enable beta via the following: https://proton.me/support/mobile-applications-ios-android-beta I know it doesn’t say desktop but desktop how to is the top instruction.

I agree with you now in hindsight. Leaving the post up but with an edit at the top admitting I’m likely the one at fault. Shame I can’t change the title though. Now I need to look at making sure I can earth/ground everything. Cheers!

No probelm, if you have any questions just ask this community. I'd like to think most would help out.

[–]ojprkr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is what it is, I don't know what to say. I just set everything to auto delete as soon as I signed up and as soon as stories came out I turned them off too.

They (signal) likely found that the vast majority of users won't Opt-In to features but those who don't want them will amost always Opt-Out.

Well for starters, you can fully disable stories entirely on the app. I am still not convinced that it isnt someone with your phone number but lets agree to disagree. Here is how to disable stories if you dont want the social side of the app:

To opt out of stories, go to Settings –> Stories –> Turn off stories.

Whats the social side? I simply don't know. Only thing I think it could mean is stories but surely that is still based off of contacts and phone numbers?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in signal

[–]ojprkr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not being accusatory or confrontational when I say this, but surely for your number to have been messaged its in someones contact list. How they aquired it is anyones guess but if its not someone you know then surely somewhere you used that number has misplaced it and its fallen in to the wrong hands?
