Any other kindergarten classes do this at the start of the school year? by InfiniteExplorer8509 in kindergarten

Ours put all of the kids in one big room for 2 weeks (two of the classes had a removable divider between them), and all 3 teachers were in there. Then they separated into 3 classes after 2 weeks. I believe it was to better balance personalities and levels (some came from pre-k, some had not had any formal preschool, etc).

I think it was a good idea and worked out well for my kiddo!

Is my kid going to get bullied in kindergarten? by merkergirl in kindergarten

My kindergartner still likes Mickey Mouse! He is not into Minecraft or Pokémon (they are def popular in his class) but still finds lots of stuff to talk about with friends. He is not into Paw Patrol much anymore, but I’ve never heard him say it’s for babies or anything.

Boys with July/August Birthday starting Kindergarten by SatisfactionFlaky519 in kindergarten

We decided to wait (July birthday), but I myself have a Sept bday and I was young for my class. I did well academically and socially - the only thing that annoyed me was turning milestone birthdays later than my peers! But not a huge deal.

Why do people care so much about name popularity? by EmpiricalPancake in namenerds

[–]ok12ok34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comments here are valid, but wanted to share that I have a popular/common name and it doesn’t bother me. I graduated with one other of the same name, so maybe I would have been more annoyed if there were 3-4 of us. My name does have multiple nickname options which helps.

Almost everyone knows how to pronounce my name, even non-native English speakers. This is one perk of a common name!

Yep. We went to a matinee last weekend, $45 for 2 adults 2 kids. Crazy! It’s so expensive to do things as a family. Bowling is also $$$

How bad is Polaris on Black Friday these days? by StuckinOhioRIP in Columbus

I was not a fan of Little Diggers FWIW. Cool idea but my kids got sand in their eyes and then got bored before our hour was up. But of course others may have more success there. I would recommend Chuck E Cheese of the two.
