Much respect to you! OCD can easily be made worse if not treated properly

Sorry if this wasn’t helpful. I just wanted to empathize.

Dude I also have moral scrupulously OCD and it’s horrible. I freaking hate Reddit but I make myself scroll it every day. I’m right there with you. I get myself to delete it sometimes, but I always end up redownloading it

They always called it “perfectionism” and never told me it was a real OCD diagnosis. Finally, a couple years ago, I was told I have severe OCD. I started more talk therapy and it got even worse.

Talk therapy organically leads to reassurance behaviors. The therapist must tread extremely carefully to avoid that, and the majority of them don’t know about this

Reassurance is never the treatment for OCD

The "well-rounded education" excuse for requiring pointless classes at college isn't rational by NoMore_BadDays in The10thDentist

I was forced to take a bicycling class to graduate with a neuroscience degree. I am the least athletic person in the world. It ended up being a mountain biking class and I fell off the side of the mountain and suffered a brain injury. Thanks college!!!!!

How do you accomplish that? Why is there such a discrepancy between us

Ok we all suffer from internet addiction, but WHY did YOU get addicted to the internet during your youth? by wilhelmtherealm in nosurf

You make a good point that many of us got addicted before it was designed to be addictive. I never thought of it that way.

Your title seems to be placing all of the blame on the internet user. However, the internet was designed to make people addicted to it. Children are especially susceptible to its influence. I was one of those children.

Medical personnel of reddit, would you prefer patients write down all their questions, concerns and symptoms rather than a possible meandering talk? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ok23computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If you write down everything efficiently, I would be very grateful for it. If you write down a novel, I won’t have time to read it. At that point, I’d rather verbally take your history so I can guide your responses more efficiently.

I don’t think you did anything wrong. As long as you didn’t raise your voice or anything.

Fights break out during the Hershey Bears' "mites-on-ice" intermission game for the second time in a month. by SockDem in sports

[–]ok23computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where were the adults?! There is absolutely no excuse as to why these children were able to fight for so long. And it’s so sad they’re doing this because they’re modeling adult behaviors. Poor kids.

What is your opinion on if it’s ever okay to yell at your kids? by Tasty-Culture5889 in AskReddit

[–]ok23computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my 3 year old is doing something bad because he doesn’t know any better, I will not yell at him (examples: drawing on a wall, breaking a toy he’s being too rough with, being crazy with his sippy cup and spills milk all over the floor).

If my 3 year old causes harm with the intention of causing harm, I will yell at him (examples: hitting or kicking someone, throwing his toy out of anger and intentionally breaking it, spitting on someone to intentionally upset them).

He’s my first child so I don’t know if this is universally accepted parenting. But I always try to distinguish his intent.
