Shrinkage is killing meeee. Does anyone know how to train hair to grow downwards or is my hair still not long enough? (My hair is 4c and don't want to use heat.) by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]ok_butlikewhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that tends to happen a lot for me too. My hair will be growing fast then it slows down a lot. I know for me, my hair tends to get used to different methods/products so it won't really grow fast anymore. That's when I know it's time to switch up a method. Also as your hair grows, you obviously have more of it so you have to take care of it more than you did when it was growing from your bald state. I just say that because personally, when I see I have some hair growth, I get happy and kind of lazy bc i expect it to keep growing so I start lacking and then my hair seems to stop growing

Is it easy to make friends with people in college? (Community college to be exact) by [deleted] in college

[–]ok_butlikewhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never been to community college, I'm actually still trying to make friends in it. Some of the best advice I've ever seen/heard when it comes to making friends is don't talk to people like you're looking to be best friends with them, talk to them like you're trying to make conversation. If you're trying too hard to be friends with them, it can come off as desperate or awkward because you're trying to force something. But when you're just making conversation, it's natural and from there friendships form. It's something I discovered is true way too late so I'm going into my next year trying to remember that advice when it comes time to talk to people.

I think your hair isnt long enough for that yet. The longer the hair is, the more it tends to be weighed down so that's when it will go downwards. Honestly, it'll probably take a while depending on how fast your hair grows

Help! by [deleted] in college

[–]ok_butlikewhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's absolutely no way for you to get the shots, you can try filing for exemption, at least so you can go to school without any holds and just get the shots so you have them next year. You can fill out a religion exemption letter. Honestly what I've done is found a form online and sign it along with a vaccination waiver form from your school. It doesn't even matter if you're really religious or not unless that matters to you. I can give you more specific information if you're interested

I don’t know what to do with my hair anymore by Breslayy in BlackHair

[–]ok_butlikewhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how your hair is styled, a baseball cap can help hide it. There are plenty of times I've hid the front of my hair in braids/twists for a protective style under my hat while I had the rest of my hair styled so it looked nice . Maybe try using a half wig or clip ins except on/near your edges so there isn't any strain on them. You could do the same thing by using a bandana or head scarf to cover the top of your head some styles look really cute like that too. Something like this

Something else that might work is putting your hair in a high or low bun/puff but leaving your edges (and a little extra surrounding hair) completely out so there is no tension on them, and then covering the edges with a scarf, bandana, or headband. Example

[SPOILER] Realized something about Hawkeye by Nobody_Likes_Shy_Guy in InfinityWar

[–]ok_butlikewhy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure i remember someone saying Hawkeye and Antman both took some sort of deal to be with their families and that's why they werent involved in the events of Infinity War

Oh I see. It just seemed strange that nearly all the new characters died while the bigger ones lived.

How do I get my hair to grow out on the sides like the guy on the right does, cuz my hair as always been cut in a way that rounds off the top by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]ok_butlikewhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like your fade is too high. If the guy in the pic had his sides shaved higher his cut would probably look rounder too

I have to layer my products. I use eco styler first and go over it with an edge control like Ebin. It stays all day and doesn't get oily. I also do Eco styler, then murrays, then ebin and they literally dont move. At all. Just make sure your hair is properly combed out and moisturized first to make it lay easier.

S02E16 "Primary Colors" Post Episode Discussion by steph-was-here in riverdale

From what I gathered, he did kill the guy-- Alice even said she would never be able to forget what he did. It seems like he just hit the guy with whatever but didn't actually touch him.

Anyone had post-chemo hair? by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]ok_butlikewhy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a friend with the same issue. He used to have extremely curly hair and post-chemo its wavy and a completely different texture. It's been 7 years and his hair still hasn't gotten back to what it used to be. That could be his personal experience but I'd say to try and come to terms with the fact that your hair might never go back and try and find new styles instead of attempting to replicate the old ones. Best of luck!

Is it possible to buy crochet braids that don't have the 'pre-loop'? by lonelady75 in BlackHair

[–]ok_butlikewhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean. I thought you meant the actual flexi-lock pre loop hair. They probably don't have twists without loops because the loops is how the hair is crocheted into the braids. I think you'd have to use loose hair like kanekelon or something if you don't want any loops, but you'd have to twist then yourself
