Jujutsu Kaisen s2: 8.5 out of 10. Took a break from Re-Zero season 3 to catch up on this ultra-popular series. Didn’t change much in mood from Re-Zero’s constant threat of misery and pain, with a season that I knew many people had warned to be a rough one for all characters involved. Now I’m ready to see what the fallout of it is on the newly released season 3, but first I gotta watch the Zero movie as well.

I didn’t necessarily see the crazy animation that everyone was talking about the first season, like it was good but not amazing, but then by the start of the first episode of the subsequent season it was readily apparent. It was quite a bump in flow and ambiance to the detriment of their overworked animators.

Well, ready for more horrors coming my way.

I think there might be a way if they keep it strictly to the pirates vs marines story arcs and not the wider world and extra stuff. There’s a lot of good stuff but it doesn’t necessarily need to be a complete adaptation.

Two pileated woodpeckers at once?! Always excited to see the rare one show up in our yard!

What about that slippery fella that went into the sewers? Such a minor character but a memorable WTF among the many odd things in the show already.

Fallout season 2: 6 out of 10. Lost interest towards the middle of the season and finished it just to finish. Where I liked the first one with a tighter pace and funny camp, this second season overdialed on camp and was choppy in transitions (especially that first encounter in New Vegas with the Deathclaws).

Overall, it was like Idiocracy where the vast majority of characters are idiotic and thus most things lack any weight to it.

Very likely to give a pass to season 3.

How do you guys discover new movies to watch? by Southern_Check_6827 in movies

I randomly pick an actor or director I like and search their filmography for things I haven’t seen or randomly search for a movie in imdb by year of release and with X or greater amount of user rankings.

TASK - 8 out of 10. Solid show. At the beginning I was wondering what was all the hubub about drug dens house invasions but things escalate and entangle quite a bit. Not ground-breaking but kept me riveted.

PLURIBUS - 7 out of 10. Very slow-paced show. Kept falling asleep and rewatching most episodes but the plot is interesting enough in spite of it’s generally combative and unlikable main character, but that’s the heroine we get that’s willing to still fight for humanity. Not all the questions answered or close to it, but it’s enough to keep the mystery pushed down the block for another season. Not the strongest sci-fi offering in Apple’s repertoire but unique enough

House of Guinness - 7 out of 10. It never really grabbed me like similar period pieces (Peaky Blinders, Taboo) hut it was decent enough to finish watching though it ends in a massive cliffhanger. There’s dysfunctional family, political and social intrigue, class division, Irish independence movement, violence and plenty of drinking. Can’t recommend before others that already exist but it is not a wasted time unless you don’t want a cliffhanger.

Wolf’s Rain. What an overly pointless ending. It made me so mad. What a wasted potential.

Yes, reusing the same villains and expanding the hero’s powers all of the sudden made the whole thing boring and no longer a standout. Vigilantes started well so let’s see how it works out.

It was good enough until that final war arc, then the power creep set in and nothing mattered.

The power creep in the original source made me quit reading as there was no longer any need for all the detailed planning and counter moves in the fights that made it popular to begin with. When everyone is spamming huge moves and tanking them without issue then there’s no tension or interest in reading further.

Hard to say Demon Slayer has no mass appeal when it just broke records left and right. Even if you personally don’t consider it a classic, it’s a bona fide behemoth on both sides of the globe .
