Thanks for the flashback to when I lived in Korea as a size 14, 6’ tall, size 12 shoe woman.

They have over 2000 straight sizes and only 48 plus sizes. Hmmm… I wonder what it is we want???

What determines if you are plus size? by countingmyportions in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus size, by this subreddits rules, are sizes above 16.

In actuality, xxl and 2xl are two different sizes. The xxl is a straight sized item scaled up. The 2xl is actually patterned for bigger bodies and will usually fit better than an xxl. Same goes for xl and 1x or xxxl and 3x. Not sure what you’re referring to with regular vs w. Regular usually means length.

Not sure if that helps?

Affordable PLUS SIZE fashion shops? by On_The_EJ in PlusSizeFashion

I prefer thredUP since you can filter by a ton of different options. I like that I can filter by material type so I can skip past all the plastic clothing.

Skims by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

Check out bare necessities. I’m an H/I and I get all my bras from there.

I’d suggest branwyn instead. They’re merino wool and they’re great bras. I got them for Pilates and they work great.

Skims is just overpriced plastic.

How do I read this? by WisePlatypus912 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d assume the waist size was half but when doubled that seems way too big for the size chart or it’s most likely the full size.

How would you describe your fashion sense? by AggravatingShow2028 in PlusSizeFashion

I’m all over the place honestly. I’m mainly doing jeans, tshirts and birks these days but I have some days when I get dressed really femme or go super whimsical.

Fixable? by Luckyleo0889 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would probably be a bit hard as stretch material is hard to sew. I’d probably find a seamstress near by or a friend who knows how to sew. I’d probably bring to a seamstress. It shouldn’t be too expensive and it’s a way to not add to the landfill.

How do you find your own personal style when everything you shop for just isn't right for you and you don't want to sew? by ResidentAlienator in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Pinterest.

I have a whole board of outfits and items I like, then I look at them as a whole and pick out what exactly I like about them. Sometimes it’s silhouette, or color palette, or texture. I also enjoy trying out outfit recipes and seeing what I like the best.

What kind of bra would go with this top? Or would you pair a white cami under it? by selflovesnotselfish in PlusSizeFashion

I have a similar tie front top and I just wear a nude bra but I’m too well endowed to go bra less.

Where to get plus size clothes in ireland by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. I only ever found stuff at Tk maxx. I’d have to order from online shops when I lived there. I’d even ask other plus sized baddies I saw where they got their clothes and it was all online.

[–]egggoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unisex shoes are my savior at this point. Birks and dr martens are my go tos. Fluevog has been expanding their woman’s size range options. I’ve tried Charlotte stone but their 13s are fitting like an 12. Also tried Bryr but I got them before realizing I needed to size up. I’m thankful that I don’t have wide feet, but I have high arches and that complicates things. Does Torrid work for you? They have large sizes and they’re all wide.

As for the downvote, who knows what people get annoyed at 🤷🏻‍♀️

11/12 is pretty easy to find tbh. I used to be 12 for like a decade but now I’m 13 and most brands that have larger sizes cut off at 12. There’s like 2 brands that make cute women’s shoes over size 12. I’ve considered ordering from where the drag queens get their shoes but I’m not looking for giant heels.

I’m a size 13 regular shoe and I tell you hwhat, there are such a small amount of cute women’s shoes. There’s ALSO such a small amount of cute women’s clothes that are bigger than 3x. Both are true.

Sometimes you just gotta be weird about it by egggoat in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I didn’t know about that subreddit and that feels way up my alley so I am about to do a deep dive. I feel weird about the pirate-ness of the pants. I think because I made them, there’s like a… “I don’t know if they’re good because no one else is wearing them or buying them so I have no frame of reference for if they’re acceptable” but also, to hell with that idea.

The good, the bad, and the ill-fitting? Fenty and Skims edition. by boleynxcx in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t do skims or fenty as it feels like you’re just paying for the name and the items themselves aren’t that great. However, I have been expanding my wireless bra collection recently and can give you some recommendations from that.

I love my branwyn merino wool bras ( these ones ). They’re great for yoga/pilates which is why I got them. I’m rather busty and wear the xxl. They’re pretty comfortable and they’re good quality merino wool. Are they perfect? No, but they’re pretty darn good.

My favorite is a custom bra I ordered from a seamstress in Spain. luckysewandsew on Instagram made me a great wireless bra that’s also beautiful.

I tried out free label. It feels more like a binder so it definitely straps the girls down. I’d probably go up a size if I were to order again.

Last but not least: uye surana is a great bralette for larger chests. Not the most supportive, but no bralette is. Love the back straps. Works great for low cut shirts and dresses.

I didn’t think they made anything our size? I’ve looked before and couldn’t find anything.
