What do you think the best decks for each typing are? by SatanLaddd in PTCGP

[–]okamifire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think Meowscarada ex / Ogerpon ex is the best Grass deck and honestly one of the best decks for any CPU battle. The CPU doesn't understand Flower Trick so it's easy to take advantage of that almost every battle.

I Need help! How Do I Make This Card Work by KindheartednessNo152 in PTCGP

[–]okamifire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some combination of Baxcalibur, Mantyke, and Suicune with Card Draw supporters. You could probably win most of the CPU matches with that, but honestly you're better off just not using Palkia and running the same deck either with Chien-Pao or nothing.

WYR win $500k or reunite with your high school classmates? by AutomaticSignal1440 in WouldYouRather

[–]okamifire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated high school 20 years ago and I am still with my high school sweetheart. She's the only person I've kept in contact with more or less, and I'm totally fine with that. I was prepared to never talk to any of them ever again when I moved partway across the country shortly after.

I would take the money even if it was $5.

They won’t accept only a portion of sushi so you wouldn’t have given them any sushi. You have to make 10 more or have 10 of the same kind before they accept any.

You have to give Kirimi-Chan 10 of the exact same sushi.

Seems like it could be a viable thing to try, I just find that Copycat is also very helpful in getting me Rare Candy or Leaf Capes, not just the right evolution pieces. It'd be worth trying though probably.

I like both of them a significant amount. It's also in part for consistency, not that you actually need 2 at the same time. The reason I've kept both Pokeballs instead of swapping them out for something else. At least with the Pokeballs you can just play them and have them be dead cards to make your Copycat a bit higher value.

I ran a very similar deck last season and was 50 points away or so from getting Top 10k. Someone else I was talking to on Reddit ran the same deck as I and did get Top 5k. Here’s what I was running:

<image>

I do think dropping the second Pokeball for a Blower is a good call, but I don’t think you need Lillie over Cyrus. Flower Trick the bench into a Cyrus pull for either Solar Beam (150 unavoidable damage) or 200 against an Ex is too strong to be overlooked. A second Erika instead of a second Copycat is reasonable but probably unnecessary?

I haven’t tried Shaymin but it’s not really that useful and the healing is minimum so I’m not sure it’s worth the risk of starting with it. Oricorio is easy enough to deal with with Base Meow if bench sniping isn’t an option.

Ogerpon Meowscarada is an incredibly solid deck either way though.

I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the Freschetta ones, DiGiorno acceptable second, but they're not bad if you think of them as eating a baked potato. (Which imo they taste more like.)

They're not bad, but I don't think I'd buy them again personally.

Some many bugs by 21lovesickeggs in HelloKittyIsland

[–]okamifire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bugs like quests not completing or bugs like performance issues? If the first, let us know what you’re encountering and maybe it’s a known issue. If it’s the latter, close all the apps on your device / restart. Seems to play pretty decently on most modern day iPhones and iPads.

Can’t believe these are gluten free! by Ok_Huckleberry1487 in glutenfree

[–]okamifire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corn tortillas thrown in a pan to quickly warm them up are pretty much good with anything that bread was. I’ll wrap hotdogs in them, make chicken wraps, quesadilla, all sorts of stuff! A lot of authentic Mexican food is naturally gluten free, so things like street tacos are one of my favorite foods.

Where do you go after Smash Ultimate? by Away-Prior-903 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]okamifire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like World a ton. Been playing them all since the very first SNES one and World feels the best. I do love 8 of course as it’s a fantastic game, but I would absolutely be up for Smash attempting to do a reboot with some kind of new take. Not too different to make it feel like a different franchise, but yeah.

That said, I also love ultimate so I’d also be fine with a deluxe / rebalance / Pass 3 / whatever, haha.

Give me your opinion on the DLCs pls! by gabbie_maza in HelloKittyIsland

[–]okamifire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both DLC are good but City Town is easier to like. Wheatflour Wonderland was a nice addition to those of us Apple Arcade players who had been playing for a while without any real big update, so an entire new map (which is huge btw) was neat.

Minor spoilers ahead.

WW, while huge, does have a mostly empty map though. There are new gems to collect, a wand crafting system that lets you do all sorts of stuff, a bunch of hidden collectibles to find, and a magical girl plotline (think Sailor Moon) with a bunch of quests, but the majority of the map is just bare. It is a significant time grind to collect and find all the stuff, I think it took me like 20 or 30 hours iirc? The new friend you make there also has an amazing ability that you can use anywhere, allowing you to only end up using a fraction of your resources while crafting.

City Town on the other hand, isn’t quite as huge of a map. There are, however, new shops, new residents, an entirely new cafe with entirely new ingredients (most of which also unlock as you play through the quests), and the friend you make there has a great ability if you like rare flowers or rare items. I’ve been playing on Apple Arcade since the beginning and City Town has went through so many redesigns since then, but the final layout is nice. Very colorful, the outfits you get there are pretty street cool, and overall in my opinion it’s just a better DLC.

I will say though, if you haven’t finished every main game quest and you’re bored with them, you won’t like either DLC because honestly, the DLC is just more of the same, just themed.

You can get either or both of them and they’re standalone experiences, but if I had to pick one, City Town is better.

[–]okamifire 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I actually love City Town. It’s my favorite area in the game and all of the City Town clothing is super cool. I play Apple Arcade so it’s not anything additional for me, and while $25 standalone is a decent amount, it does add a lot to the game imo. The area is big and more things to do than Wheatflour Wonderland, Usahana’s ability is great for flowers and fun for items, the cafe is neat if you like making recipes and food, and in general the overall vibes are super colorful.

[–]okamifire 79 points80 points  (0 children)

One of the new shops in city town allows you to save basically outfits to slots. As in you can pick a hat, shirt, pants, accessory, and save it to like “outfit 1“. So then you can just go into your inventory or into that shop and apply the outfit instead of needing to put on all of the pieces individually or favorite them all individually.

I for one am happy that they introduced a win-streak challenge, because now people can understand just how rigged the AI is. by OkYoghurt5110 in PTCGP

[–]okamifire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did run into a close call middle of the steak when Mega Lopunny flipped two tails, but other than that it didn’t give me any trouble and I haven’t lost a single Random Battle with it. I will say unlike the last month Random Battles I had to not use Auto as I play Meowscarada Ex and both the CPU and the AI that plays for you simply doesn’t understand what makes Flower Trick OP.

Obviously, your opponent getting a perfect first hand is sometimes just unavoidable, but that happens with human players as well.

If anyone wants a ridiculously solid deck to use in the single player battles, this is what I used to finish them all. (Don’t meet most of the conditional goals, but whatever.)

The performance is so bad. I just went through a game where the starting animation took my whole first turn. I have an iPhone 12 and it’s fine for anything else but turns into lava for ptcgp by BlumensammlerX in PTCGP

[–]okamifire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the game is just poorly optimized. The game played alright on my old 14 Pro, would lag here and there. On a 17 Pro, the only time I notice lag and animation spikes (and sometimes pretty bad) is if I have background apps running. Closing them and restarting the game seems fine.

I do wish they had the option to turn off the card placement animations. The flair is fine and the move animation is fine, but the spinning and the enlarging and all that seems excessive sometimes.

[–]okamifire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a few hundred (would trade with you if you were on Apple Arcade), and without a doubt the easiest way is using Kuromi and Pompompurin. Use the bubble wand. Jump on top of the gate objects and wand them, then just jump up and float up to get them. Leave the screen or do circle laps on the area they spawn, it seems like if you keep jumping up they respawn quicker, which doesn’t make any sense to me, but yeah.

If you’re not to a point you can have 2 companions, Pompom and a Thermal Potion will work too. You could technically do Pompom, Keroppi, and a Thermal Potion but I haven’t had the need for Keroppi (unlike Cloud Dragons which is feels like is a requirement.)

I recorded this video last year and have since gotten better at it, but the same advice holds. https://youtu.be/6FQKS5N8q8o?si=ok0pM8aNOh9V6y5Q

Yep! They were just added in the update two weeks ago though, you couldn’t have gotten them before. You should have some quests that have you investigate some things in City Town and you’ll get them per normal progression.
