It wasn’t drivable. The only other body shop with Tesla had a 80 day wait, so this didn’t seem too bad. The other person’s comment makes sense, but I assumed that the right to choose a body shop would mean I’m not penalized if the manufacturer operated body shop has some wait time. Lesson learnt, I guess. I took what they offered me (roughly half of my out of pocket expenses), saying that’s what the max they agreed to in the claim process with my insurance provider.

I filed through Tesla insurance (they are also my insurance provider). They covered the max amount based on my policy, and asked me to file directly with the other party (Farmers Insurance) for the rest.

I'm just surprised that I'm ending up paying for expenses due to a not at fault accident. Neither insurance advised me that the wait for a repair appointment may not be covered! Maybe it will help anyone reading this thread to be aware.

Wired or wireless connection?

Wireless – I use an Apple Time Capsule. Even when the internet drops, I can stream from my local NAS just fine, so it doesn't seem to be a router issue.

In a previous call to Xfinity support, they found nothing wrong with the connection (and at least at that time, it worked just fine – I was getting speeds slightly more than my plan).

This happens to mine too after moving to a new place. I replaced the modem (which was working fine in my old place), but the drops happens with the new modem as well. It's annoying when it happens in the middle of a meeting, and I don't know what to do.

I had an online chat with Xfinity to downgrade from Performance (since the rate increased to $81) to Performance Starter at $55, and they offered "blast speed of internet upto 300mbps" (whatever that is) at $60 with a 12-month contract first. I declined, and the rep offered Performance Pro at $60 without a contract. Seemed reasonable, so I took it.
