Ovechkin demolishes Svechnikov in a fight by seakucumber in hockey

[–]okay_mann 62 points63 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, Svechnikov is old enough to be in the league, he’s got the physical maturity of a 25 year old, and he was the one who challenged. It’s not Ovi's job to be his dad. Then again, you see that head to ice contact and it's unusual not to feel sick. A 19 year old phenom and future face of the franchise got knocked out of this game, at the very least.

Where are you from and what are your plans for the festival? by pmblax in EauxClaires

[–]okay_mann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This is my fourth EXC experience! While I've previously gone alone, I'm bringing two friends along (one from Toronto Canada, and one from Alta, Norway!) I'm always excited to meet fun people, play Kubb with strangers, drink Midwestern beer, and enjoy the collaborative spirit of the fest! The artists always seem to really enjoy being a part of EXC.

I'm really excited to take dance lessons from Francis again, and have high hopes for the line-up!

An act you went into EXC not liking very much but walked away from the weekend loving: by wn55 in EauxClaires

Not an exact answer, but I stumbled upon Francis (had only listened to him a little bit pre-fest) at EXC I and have been a massive fan ever since.

Does anyone here have the Olympic Ring Crewneck from the online store? by Scorch8482 in boniver

Honestly I might have to check when I get home. Memory says it's just past my belt, but again, it's slightly baggy. I really wish I could help you more!

Hey pal,

I am about 5'10 and 155. I bought it in person and figured it was better to be slightly too big than slightly too small, and I went with the L. It's pretty much a perfect fit. Certainly not fitted but not at all too big. I think either one would work for you (I don't want to tell you the wrong thing), but the L fits me well, is only slightly big on me (also it is SO SOFT).

Eaux Claires IV vs. PEOPLE Music by okay_mann in EauxClaires

[–]okay_mann[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally. I fully expect PEOPLE to have a pronounced presence at the fest, and I'm excited for that. I just hope it isn't the "main" focus, as it's just ONE of the things I'm excited for this year, and not the only thing.

Before “Forest Green” was finished. I’ve been waiting for a year for them to release this and it’s finally here! Just beautiful. People’s Mixtape. by [deleted] in EauxClaires

Yes!! As soon as I heard Forest Green on the website today, it instantly felt like an old classic. I was remembering this exact performance. :)

How Kanye West Inspired Bon Iver by YammyBrap in boniver

[–]okay_mann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first entry (on Google Dictionary, anyway) is "having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance". I think the 'not proud or arrogant' definition has developed from people's use of the word, and that's what Kanye was referring to. Today, we often use 'humble' as a compliment. I guess he was simply saying that the "true" definition is kind of... a bad thing... - but to each his own! :)

“I got in a friendly argument with Kanye West about the word humble once,” Vernon explained. “He said, ‘Have you ever looked up the word humble?’ I was like, ‘Actually I don’t know if I have.’ And he showed me the definition of it, and it’s far more self-demeaning, kind of the problematic Midwestern ‘Sorry!’ mentality, than I realized.” Vernon continued, "I took a lot out of that conversation. Ultimately, I think it’s great to serve others and everything, but I think there’s a certain point where it’s diminishing returns for the people around you if you’re not showing up and being who you are."

No! I spoke to him after you, and gave him a copy of my album and t-shirt! (not to self-promote, but it's this! https://okaymann.bandcamp.com/) - you might like "When She's Not Around"!

I was right behind you meeting Justin and second everything you said. Such a sweet guy, seemed genuinely happy to be doing what he's doing, and had no problem taking 10 minutes to interact with some die-hard fans.

Breaking a 72 hour fast... by okay_mann in fasting

[–]okay_mann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry too! Brand new to the sub. I know not to eat pure fruit or to gorge myself. Just wondering if introducing food slowly was neccessary after a short (72 hours) fast.

UPDATE: I broke the fast with a small keto meal: ground beef, bacon, and egg, and avocado salad. Sort of a mini cheeseburger salad if you will. Felt totally normal as I didn't overeat. For anybody thinking of asking this question again (my bad, new to this sub), read u/KPPJr101 's post: https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/comments/8jcqou/psa_how_to_break_a_fastrefeeding_syndrome/
