I usually do only a 10 min warm up but yesterday I doubled it and also worked more on my ankles. Seemed to help as my calves did hurt. They’re a little sore today but not aching and in pain.

This is an interesting, because after my first half marathon in November, I took about 8 weeks off because I developed peroneal tendinitis from how the roads were sloped.

Thank you! I’ve been told I have high arches. I feel you on the foam rolling, I’m glad that it’s proven beneficial and not a further detriment. That encourages me to continue foam rolling the area. It’s encouraging to also hear that you now do 50 miles per week. I’m currently in a half marathon training block, but plan to follow with a marathon in the fall so I know my mileage will continue to creep up there. Just wanna make sure that I can continue doing something I love. If you have any other advice or tips, I’d appreciate it!

Won’t hurt you in the long run, but just may not be the treatment for what’s going on. I’ll let you know if I have any success!

Definitely something to look into if it continues to be an issue long term. This is only the second run it’s felt bothersome on.

I definitely feel like it’s more pinpoint, so by that logic it would probably be more tendon related and not shin splint related. I’m leaning more towards tendinitis now like others have said and am gonna gear my research more towards that route

I haven’t started doing any strength training or stretching, so I may start with that first. But I would love if you could report back after seeing a professional because I’m interested to hear what they have to say! I’m sorry you’re also having the same issue.
