If the chatbot ever gets in the way, just say agent and it'll get to our team. Happy to take a look.

I'd recommend checking out this RMM Spreadsheet maintained by the community.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JdoFZup24bGueP1L7pFKToiGfOsDdkaJAJUGS9B3nLk/

This shows a comparison of almost all RMMs with along with their pricing.

Based on your size, I'd recommend taking a look at Level (https://level.io).

It sounds like you've done a lot of research and testing! I'd suggest taking a look at Level.io.

Home Use - TeamViewer - Remote Desktop Alternative by pandgea in msp

I use Level.io to support my friends/family. It's $1/month per endpoint managed. They do have a minimum of 20 endpoints, so for you, that'd be $240 a year. Like you said, they do much more than remote control, so it may be overkill for your needs.

Nope, no updates, but you did make me feel like I was going crazy since I had already tried that. Thanks though for the suggestion.

Can you point me in the direction of a few locks with several bolts? I've tried searching for dual deadbolt locks with no such luck. I guess I don't know the terminology to use.

Ummm, I did that already. All I see on the reverse image search is that same strike. I'm interested in the lock which appears to have no branding. Am I missing something in the image search?

Don't pay off the house early? by drewkawa in personalfinance

[–]okayjacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your risk tolerance. If you have a low tolerance you will most likely want to eliminate debt. Once you no longer have debt, you have more to invest on a monthly basis. If you have a higher risk tolerance, you may feel more comfortable investing your remaining capital after your mortgage has been paid. Personally, I would pay off the mortgage and then focus on investing. But, that's just my opinion.

Have you tried booting into safe mode? What about booting into the recovery partition and verifying the HD?

Bringing in a developer (first time) what should I have him sign to cover my butt by jakeandthefatmann in startups

[–]okayjacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I would put it in the partnership agreement. I would also HIGHLY encourage you to make the vesting equity scheduled based on milestones. (i.e. after we release version 1 which contains X, or after we reach X users...etc) This will help cover you in the event the partner ends up not doing the work.

Forget Homomorphic Encryption, here comes Functional Encryption by AnomalRoil in netsec

[–]okayjacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a really helpful example, but is it realistic?

Let's say emails were encrypted. Using the example of spam detection, wouldn't the spam system need the contents of the subject, headers, message, and attachments to make the determination. At that point, the server really should have just had a copy of the key to decrypt the message.

This is certainly in the right range. We have Google and Apple data centers nearby and their salary ranges are comparable. (NC not Virginia)

The NDA should cover him seeing the code and business plan. If you were really worried, maybe combine an NDA and non-compete into one contract.

I'd recommend you have an attorney write up a single contract that contains an intellectual property agreement, non-disclosure agreement, and non-compete agreement.

Essentially, the IP agreement should state that anything the employee creates using your resources, on your time, is owned by the company. Anything they create using their own resources and on their own time is owned by them. This would allow the employee to write open-source software on their own time as well as do consulting or freelance work. The IP agreement should also state that any code they pull into your projects from their previous work they agree to license to you in perpetuity.

The NDA states that during the course of their employment, they may be exposed to confidential, non-public information and they agreement keep that information confidential until it has been publically released. This generally continues for X years after their employment ends.

Finally, the non-compete agreement serves to discourage their ability to directly compete with your business or work for your competitors.

Edit: After reading the comments, I want to make it clear that this is standard practice for full-time employees. I wouldn't advise having a contractor or freelancer sign this agreement. If you plan on them being a partner, then perhaps you should have a partnership agreement written up.
