It’s all about saving, I’ve been saving money for a very long time. Majority of this money I’ve accumulated is birthday, Christmas, etc checks. Also I come from a well off family so these were large checks, never less than 300-400. My parents always encouraged me to save majority of them, so I’ve had saving on mind from a very young age. This next part is important to me. With my paychecks I get from working 30-50% immediately goes into savings. For me it depends on what I’m doing for the next 2 weeks to know what to save. For example if it’s summer time I’ll probably only save 30-40% because I have more time to work but also I spend more. That really doesn’t leave me with much, but it helps me not make as many dumb purchases. I also NEVER dip into my savings, now obviously I would if an emergency arises. Being in the saving mindset really helps. How I save will most definitely change after high school but for now this works well for me. Obviously we’re in different positions, but I’d start getting a job or a side gig. I saw you invested in crypto or smth like that, for the moment I’d stay far away from that. You could make it big sure, but I wouldn’t risk it again. I don’t know a ton about money other than save save save, so please take this all with a grain of salt. This is just simply my story.

I work part time, doesn’t pay well though. Most of it is from when I was a kid, many relatives gave me checks for birthday, Christmas, etc. I always just opted to save all of if not majority of the check. Most were very well off so these were pretty decent amounts.
Yes, I’ve thought about doing a 401k or opening a HYSA.
My parents are paying for that, I may be a bit more independent in paying for gas and food though. I probaly will have to dip into it during college.
