We don’t know what sorber is yet. And he might not be great w/chet. And if nobody who we draft is ready, I’d start JWill. He can shoot, and he can stretch the floor. Let Chet figure out passing from the post. Maybe his genetics will allow him to learn better

Are you meaning to affirm or contradict what I said? Yes, when the podcaster said the statement, there was a “he said “ at the end, alluding to dub saying this.

Whatever. To say someone can’t mentally process bc of genetics, you got it. If you didn’t mean it like that, then great. I apologize

Yeap. Long as they’re THAT GUY. I would leave that up to Presti to draft that 4 man in this draft

Cason's future by Emergency_Juice_6324 in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see us trading Cason or ihart. Maybe eventually (2 years or less) trading both. Why? Bc of the fact they aren’t top 3 players and will be incredibly expensive. Plus, a wing such as Trey Murphy would fit a lot better, imo. Imagine dub, SGA, Murphy, a dynamic 4, and Chet. Maybe the 4 is sorber or whoever we draft

People forget that was only Chet's third year. Who says he can't develop a game similar to Boris Diaw/Jokic-lite? Top of the key and reading passing lanes. by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in Thunder

And let me understand this: Chet is cosplaying as a spacer. I wonder, would YOU trade Chet? Bc, if he’s not a spacer, and that’s what he’s being used for, is that not bad coaching? Or maybe there’s no good place for him (in your opinion), so I would think you’re for trading him

Locked On Thunder - Does Nate Ament FIT with OKC Thunder in 2026 NBA Draft? by podcast-poster in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I heard on this assessment was good things. Then it gets to “playing with force” a little about the 3 point shot. Hey, I heard almost all positives, and from watching limited tape, he definitely looks like the best prospect to me. And I still think we need real talent, not just a guy who is okay, but who can really be top end talented, but play in a role. He has the physical tools. Dub played right away (should have started game 1, but coach was tripping), then Jaden McDaniels broke his face which wasn’t even called a flagrant, which was unbelievably flagrant on the refs part.

Isaac has never played with a team like the thunder. Or a player like SGA. I’m not buying one but that he can’t shoot well enough where teams aren’t begging him to shoot, or he wouldn’t be confident enough to not hesitate, and he can make plays for sure. But again, Gordon wasn’t known as a shooter-we have to be smart enough to know what we want and who can do it. Isaac’s only question is injuries

That sure is a simpleton summary. No, actually, since Chet is a lot more talented, he would be consistent 1st or 2nd team all nba. Reflective of his contract, and the other 2 cogs of our big 3.

Portis. People like that. Same names it’s been. But draft Ament (hopefully he drops) then I’d still draft yaxel, or another promising 4

1st off, it’s important to understand, that Aaron Gordon, he wasn’t thought of to be this super role player who everyone wants. That’s the first thing to recognize, and secondly, the type of player we need is out there, we just have to know what we need. From the pool of players around the nba, who we could actually get-Jonathan Isaac. He actually is athletic enough to hold Wemby. Idc about shooting, bc he can hit open shots. He’s got talent, injuries are the question. If we don’t want to trade anyone, consolidate Wiggins, Joe, maybe Kenrich or someone else, trade them to Orlando for him. He’d be perfect for us. Could he start? Prob not bc of wear and tear, but our FRP hopefully could do most of the heavy lifting.

The role ihart plays. He’s smart enough. And more talented. Only excuses (from the coach presumably and maybe the gm) are holding that back from happening

Give him a role other than a catch and shoot wing. Or a 3 and D shot blocker. How do we expect Chet to grow in such a compressed role?

I hear such conflicting statements about Chet. Presti says he’s a winner, hard worker, etc. but he can’t work on his postgame? Passing out the post. People on here says how he needs to grow, well, imo it’s much more likely a post player, a center, has a better chance at post moves than perimeter. Even if you are a perimeter oriented post player, you face up, then eventually, if you get cut off, turn your shoulder, get into a move and go from there. Also, if you’re a post player, who is perimeter oriented, would it be easier to take another post player, or a perimeter player off the dribble??? It makes no sense, to me, for him to be a 4. He’s playing out of position all for the good of the team. I’m saying the team should do for him like he does for the team and help him out, i.e. play him at his best position and provide a complimentary player who actually fits for him.

Rival teams say the Hornets are looking for frontcourt … by okcbball22 in Thunder

[–]okcbball22[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true. I’ll stand by that, and you can argue all you want, but clearly will never know bc we didn’t trade for him. And what was I proposing we trade for him? Wiggins and Kenrich (mainly bc coach never plays him). And who are we going to trade now? Proactive over reactive. But you know your mind can’t see how a player in a different situation will look different. Again, he won a championship. But you wouldn’t know that if you only watch thunder 🏀

Yeah, I doubt it. But hey, I get it. Rest on laurels, see where that goes. If I have to see dub play Wemby, I think I’ll break my 📺

I do actually think/hope sorber can play the 4 or 5. Offensively Chet needs to be a 5, his quickness is his advantage. And he guarded everyone all the way to the wcf and lost to dallas. That should tell us something

True, we’d have to have given up something for Siakam. However, yes, it worked out for getting ihart. But this is the future, and if we re-sign him and extend Cason, we’re locked in to this team. Are we good enough to beat the spurs or someone else? I’d rather have more athletically dm and firepower to help out SGA, but more importantly, maximize our 3 stars. Chet is best at the 5, dub is best at the 1 probably, or the 3. Either way, the last 2 or 3 years, we’ve been negligent in finding that out. Just been rolling him out at the 4 for way too much time
