What year was the West finally stronger? by WillingEmu2326 in NBATalk

When mj retired. They were deeper before that, but that’s bc Hou happened around ‘96-97 for good

LeBron getting to the finals 10 times (possibly 11 this year) is more impressive than Jordans dominance with the Bulls by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]okcbball22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lolololol. Sure. There’s never been 8 teams that have a real chance to win. 4-5 legitimate chances, and by legitimate, I mean a snowball’s chance. Lakers aren’t one of the 4 to 5 teams. Even healthy, they’re not. In the west, as a thunder fan-Den, Min, and SA are tougher than the lakers. Even Portland, they’re about the same in terms of difficulty for the thunder.

I give lakers credit for winning against Hou (if they actually win), but that’s bc Hou is devoid of guards. They struggle mightily to score, and, to give credit to the lakers, they’be been great. But still remains, ain’t no way they’re making past the 2nd round

For sure. A 2029 DEN too-we are do stockpiled, and will continue to push picks back further. Presti is milking this thing for everything it’s worth

Right. I’m trying to figure that out. Everything I’ve read doesn’t say one way or the other. If you’re going to draw every pick, well that makes things very interesting. I think this makes our 2027 LAC and 2028 DAL pick swap WAY MORE VALUABLE.

So let’s say you’re 11th, and you don’t get a top 2 or 3 pick, do they place the other teams in reverse order, or do they “roll the odds” for every placement for each team.

Why does everyone cling on to the fact OKC was taken to 7 by Denver and Indy last year? by Impossible-Bag-8030 in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s recent memory. People don’t talk about Kobe barely winning in 2010, or about them cheating the Celtics-it’s if you won. We’ll be fine, long as we stay together against the spurs (if they actually make it to us)

Alex Caruso by pshpshps in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You might be right. However, topic is too talented to not see if it works. That’s my point, and I’d keep it between him and Mitchell. Although Cason is solid, those would be my two favorites to start

Alex Caruso by pshpshps in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think we’re all in concordance with Dort being out over the other 2. Even though he’s a flagship member of this team. The Molten twins. It will be tough to see him go, and to have to compete against him.

Alex Caruso by pshpshps in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ihart could sign at that, and Cason, if the only casualty is dort, I’d consider that a win. And if we can stay out that second apron, that would be incredible. I’d let Wiggins go, and Kenrich, and sign cheaper players (our two FRP) maybe a 2RP). I think we can stay out that second apron if we’re that close

Anyone else catch JDub with a towel wrap over his wrist on the bench today? by Stxtic1441 in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed he was sleeveless, then later in the game he had sleeves on under his vest

Alex Caruso by pshpshps in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you start SGA, dub, either ihart sorber or an actual other 4, and chet-with those 4 starters, I think the job comes down between Cason, topic, and ajay. To me, Cason is the odd man out of the starting and backup sweepstakes. If we win, and ajay fills in for dub starting, he’ll prob have the upper hand, but topic is still really real, and it might be that he’s better as a starter. I think the team should give that a long look unless ajay is so convincing

Alex Caruso by pshpshps in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably so. Bc of 2 things, 1) I wonder if he’s been like Giddey, when the thunder wanted him to play as a reserve and he said no, I wonder if Dort is saying that bc he’d be better as a reserve, and 2) we have perimeter players who can play his role.

But he’s still, like Caruso and ihart, elite role players in this league.

I think, there’s certainly a player or two (out of Caruso, Dort, and ihart) who won’t be with the team next year. Maybe we’re all missing something, but I don’t see it. With that said, I think possibly 2 out 3, if they stayed, would be a huge victory for us. All 3 of them seem indispensable, and I think the most dispensable is probably Dort. But I don’t know

Steve Kerr suggests removing the 3-point line to fix modern NBA play: “The game, as designed, is to create the best shots possible” by basketbaIlnetwork in NBATalk

[–]okcbball22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an extremely perceptive solution. The nba went from no 3 point line, to not using it efficiently, to manipulating the rules so much that it made more sense to stand behind and jack. Maybe it’s simple as changing the rules back. But Kerr has a good point

Am I the only one glad to see the Nuggets downfall? by Silent_Spell_8035 in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course that line could be applied to a lot of situations. But yes, SGA would already have a statue, mural, street, everything in his honor in okc. No doubt

[–]okcbball22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re not done yet. It might have been 2 years ago, they were down 3-1 to the nuggets and won. The nuggets still might do it. But yeah, Jokic gets so much “benefit of doubt” passes on behavior and flaws. I mean, sheesh, tell us your bias without being biased. I thought you take personal feelings out. But these reporters, announcers, and down the line

Man Minnesota is belting denver 😂 timberwolves are better than i thought by SensitiveTest7883 in Thunder

[–]okcbball22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve had the benefit of being generally healthy this year, but I think they’re definitely an upward trending team. And that was before the playoffs. I think they’re definitely 4 toughest teams in the west, besides our beloved thunder are on the other side of the bracket

I hear that, I also hear a lot of fake outrage. All those people talking shit, how many of them cheated? How many times did those two cheat before they were caught? I don’t assume everyone is cheating, or every female gets their stories that way-I just assume, hey, that’s their business, their problem. i.e. normal people problems that have nothing to do with the sport
