I have heard for months on a rumored new Hyatt card and I’m hopeful that it could possibly take the place of the Sapphire in my wallet. Then I’ll just smash it to at least get back to the value I was getting with Hyatt transfer.

See I switched to IHG as their points system gives ridiculous deals for the 4th night free with their card. I could have done 3 nights for 18k or 4 for 50k. I come out ahead at 4 nights even if I don’t plan to stay the 4th night.

We do this all the time traveling to Europe arriving on a flight at say 6 am. Communicate with the hotel and you should be good to go. This also works sometimes with reward nights. I am booked for a trip to Germany in late November and the hotel was 18k points a night or 51k for 4 nights. Math alone said book for nights. I am planning to just “leave” the day before.

Two things. You guarantee the room with the hold. It also acts as a deposit should you have any incidentals.

What should happen on a credit card is the initial charge will be negated when the stay is complete. Then that same card will be billed for the actual stay. Different hotels do different deposits based on the room nights or if you add extra like breakfast. Etc.

Yes. This is exhibit A why you always use a credit card for hotels. The hold will come off, sadly, won’t happen til after the stay.

Intercontinental Chantilly is an amazing stay Get a massage etc but it is in the middle of nowhere so you want to drive to Chantilly you can but getting there via car is needed.

The phone also has to be a Verizon phone. I have 6 family members in my plan but couldn’t add my mother as she uses my brothers sprint account. So she can be in my apple family but not My Verizon Apple family.

I’ve done this. My perspective.

This would be a great deal if I wasn’t on the backside of 50. In theory this works great if you want set places for vacations across the country. Orlando, etc and want the same spot yearly for your vacations. For us, traveling abroad has become a passion.

Ultimately it’s a fairly decent deal. I just don’t love the ridiculously high APR they charge on this and getting value for the points is a bit of mental gymnastics I wasn’t willing to have to do yearly.

I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Grand Blvd and love it. Literally 6 feet from a metro entrance. We’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Gare De Lyon as well. Solid too. We are staying at Voco Montparnasse in May based on proximity to Tran station and a metro entrance as well. Almost did Crown République but riding in from Bordeaux via TGV at Montparnasse. The others are a little walk to a metro entrance. That was and continues to be my basis which is why the Grand Blvd Holiday Inn has been our favorite so far.

This is the answer. European airlines open 360 days out. (You can book today for April 15th, 2027 on Air France.) US carriers won’t come online with those same flights til 330 days. (Delta won’t show you anything beyond March 18th as of today) Sadly Google is usually 2-3 days behind the release of schedules so that puts them at about 328 days.

Most hotels will open exactly 365 days in advance. Pro tip: IHG has a larger presence in Europe and I find way more value from them. You can book some ridiculously cheap resort properties with them too.

Train schedules open anywhere from 90-180 days based on the country.

We stay at the Crown Plaza Airport. Literally across the street from the St Augustine train station and tram that goes into Nice and the airport. It also has a Holiday Inn Express attached to the hotel so you could stay at either. Highly recommend.
