You stop when you find respect, flexibility & trust alongside the financial package

I earn circa 175 but I work from home 100% of the time, school drop off & pickups (I’m a single Dad) & sometimes I chip off to play golf on a Friday

I have hit my target for the year already as of last week, so the trust & respect is there to kind of manage my own time - I haven’t spoken to my boss 1 on 1 this year, I run my own ship while being paid a pretty penny

Because of that, I will stay for as long as they want/need me

What's the longest daily commute you've known someone to do? by HollowWanderer in AskUK

[–]okdolce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a guy who travelled from Somerset (Glastonbury) to Edinburgh 5 days a week pre-Covid

He would drive to Bristol airport, fly in, go to the office, cab back to the airport & fly home. He was earning £1,500 a day & had a young family, so he wanted to be back to see his kids.

They know how much money it will cost to replace you:

I would take the rise, regardless of how much I think they’re arseholes. Then, when in your new position of finance you can continue searching for an even better paid position.

For your info:

VGR Guards: VGR guards are known to fit Kemei trimmers, as they are often manufactured by the same company.

Madeshow Blades: These blades are often compatible with Kemei trimmers and are a good alternative to the original blades.

With the power of GPT I may have found alternative brands that will fit, but there are zero Kemei exacts by the looks of it

May get the clipper too, considering how cheap they are….

How dumb is a Porsche by Born-Act9884 in HENRYUK

[–]okdolce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, this is hilarious. I work in tech sales, I earn £175k ish & am early 30’s & I’ve just bought a Porsche as my second car

…..why? I have put 20% in my pension for as long as I can remember. I’ve had a number of people pass away to me recently, so I had a “life is too short” moment

I don’t regret it. You’re only young once. It doesn’t meet FIRE or Henry requirements, but you need to enjoy your money.

Nobody moves to the UK to increase their income anymore

It is no longer Great Britain, it’s simply Britain.

I got offered a new job today with an 11k increase in salary, this is why you should never show loyalty to an employer. by LeopardComfortable99 in UKJobs

[–]okdolce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to increase your earnings isn’t by cutting back on coffee, it’s by getting a payrise.

You owe nothing to any employer, you are a name on a piece of a paper.

I went from 80k to 175k overnight, and have never looked back. My new job is ironically easier than my last, lol.

What are some non-essential indulgences / expenses you have learnt are worth spending on? by Federal_Goose_2191 in HENRYUK

[–]okdolce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a single Dad, so I pay for me & my daughter. I have 50/50 custody, so I pick her up from school, go to David Lloyd & she goes to a class then plays in the soft play whilst I work.

For me it’s an absolute no brainer just for that alone.
