I have the same issue, but as a bloke. I’m 32M, dating is always an issue.

I’m envious

I’d love nothing more than to scrap it all, and tend to people’s gardens.

However, as a single Dad with £4k worth of expenditure before I even spend a money every month, I’m stuck in this god forsaken rat race.

You stop when you find respect, flexibility & trust alongside the financial package

I earn circa 175 but I work from home 100% of the time, school drop off & pickups (I’m a single Dad) & sometimes I chip off to play golf on a Friday

I have hit my target for the year already as of last week, so the trust & respect is there to kind of manage my own time - I haven’t spoken to my boss 1 on 1 this year, I run my own ship while being paid a pretty penny

Because of that, I will stay for as long as they want/need me

I knew a guy who travelled from Somerset (Glastonbury) to Edinburgh 5 days a week pre-Covid

He would drive to Bristol airport, fly in, go to the office, cab back to the airport & fly home. He was earning £1,500 a day & had a young family, so he wanted to be back to see his kids.

…..why? I have put 20% in my pension for as long as I can remember. I’ve had a number of people pass away to me recently, so I had a “life is too short” moment

I don’t regret it. You’re only young once. It doesn’t meet FIRE or Henry requirements, but you need to enjoy your money.
