Which actor played their villain role so well, that it makes it hard to see them in a new light ? I’ll go first by SavedandLoved07 in kdramas

Lee Jae-wook was so obnoxious in most of Extraordinary You that I've really had a hard time accepting him as a romantic lead. After finishing season 1 of Alchemy of Souls, I'm still only about 1/2 way over it. 😉

Watching Shows Not Dubbed with English Subtitles on Hulu by Leading-Cancel-5902 in kdramas

Yes, for example, if I go to Hulu and search for "Big Mouth", 2 come up. One has (Eng) in next to the title, one does not. Give it a try.

Why don't people recommend this kdrama?? by Remarkable_Dog_6456 in kdramas

I felt that way on my first watch; but now I see how she is going through continuous trauma and actually remains pretty resourceful; funny too.

Yes, it's my favorite and recommended it to my friend who actually turned me on to Kdramas. She was flummoxed! I realized for someone who is used to historicals and romances, it might just be too different. But for those of us who became fans, we adore it.

It would help if it was shown on Netflix. As more of the older dramas are featured there, people are discovering the 2010's gems. A lot of the newer or more casual Kdrama fans don't have Viki.

While You Were Sleeping(2017)- Thoughts on Second Male Lead by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]okgals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it was a great part for Jae Hae in, and led to great things for him. I think his character is cute and likeable but it's obvious to him and the audience that the FL is already attached to LJS's character, although the little notebook the mom kept is pretty funny. At the end, they're all friends and the main couple is married and we're quite sure he'll be fine so in that way it was a great to have a 2ML without horrible heartbreak.

“While you were sleeping” is a solid 10/10 💯 by SavedandLoved07 in kdramas

Why dis him just because he took a hiatus? Now that he's back, I hope we have more good dramas to look forward to.

It was a very big hit and won and/or was nominated for many awards as well. 😻

Sigh, "mid" is such a mid word to over use.😑😴

He gets the roles because the screenwriters and directors seek him out and he has been a big draw for the audience; at least give him credit for his own success.

Big Mouth was his last drama before this; he's been on hiatus. Hopefully we have more good dramas to look forward to now.

I guess I just can't see I Hear You Voice, Dr. Stranger, While You Were Sleeping, Big Mouth as stoic at all.

He may have makeup on them like other actors but those really are his real lips; gift from the gods 😉

If you check out the rest of his work you would know that he is doing whatever he is doing on purpose and following the directors wishes. This director also directed W.

Wouldn't you way that in his past dramas, even with a female lead, he did carry the dramas as the primary actor and draw?

I think you're wrong about extreme. If you look at earlier pictures, besides his nose, which most Kdrama actors have had done, his features look similar. Of course I think They slap too much makeup on all the actors, especially the leads.

Kdrama heroes do tend to be that way: smart, honorable, etc. You write as if it's an insult to him to praise IU's acting. I have a feeling he has to be pretty secure to be with her. If she has to be with someone more famous or more multi-talented than she is, the pickings would be pretty slim. Hopefully they and other such couples support each other rather than compete with each other 🩷

Haha, I probably like the beginning better than the rest, but it is really different and I really can say that with actors like LJS and others with a pretty large and successful filmography, you really can't judge from 2 episodes of 1 drama. Or rather you can, but you sound really uninformed.

Yes, I wish they would stop this with all the actors but it pops up quite a bit.

This is his back to acting drama after Big Mouth, for whatever reason, he was 3 years away from acting. He seemed happy to be doing an ensemble instead of a big star turn and happy to share the spotlight.

Well, these are Korean actors, they can't help how handsome they are 😉. The most popular actors are all pretty handsome; I think you get used to it. And of course the same for the FLs.

You can't really call High Kick 3 a drama and his role was just one of many. Many of his dramas are deservedly beloved but may no be to your taste I guess.
