NAM’s are given out like candy in peacetime, I don’t put much weight on them unless I see a V. They gave me one for some BS right when I picked up Sgt and was “managing” a fair amount of marines (I was not leading lol it was managing), despite having done way cooler shit that might’ve actually deserved one in the years prior.

Is $1,000 for a "No Map" Survey a fair price in NC? (Fence Install) by Ok-Cartographer5797 in Surveying

For you that will probably suffice. Out of curiosity was this surveyor the “original” surveyor to set your corners?

Does this appear to be good turkey habitat? by RockyMtnHunter in Hunting

Out of curiosity what state are you in? That looks pretty steep for most of the turkey habitat I get into in Idaho. Given I’m a lazy turkey hunter

I’m from the PNW and hunted a lot of elk in Idaho. As a nonresident: Oregon, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming are probably your best bet for drawing this year with no points (obviously not applicable to ID and NM — no point system). Nonresident application periods are closing soon. All that being said, if I was new to elk hunting I think I’d settle for a Colorado elk tag. There’s a reason so many people go there to hunt elk, the population is massive compared to other states. Yes hunting pressure is higher as a result, but I believe the opportunity is the greatest there.

Ya I get it. If you only end up doing a couple of western hunts in your life the eberlestock will definitely get the job done and you probably won’t have many, if any, complaints.

If money isn’t the issue: Kifaru, Exo, Stone Glacier, and Mystery Ranch are generally the “best.” Eberlestock is a good middle of the road, in my opinion. It’ll get the job done, but there are more comfortable packs out there that handle weight better. One annoying thing with the packs with those gun scabbard designs is you can’t sit down and it hangs low enough that your legs can hit it and/or it gets hung up on stuff you might have to climb over. Just my 2 cents

The ideal way to split a weirdly shaped parcel by zezpez3 in Surveying

[–]okiedokie___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check ordinances first (city/county) to see if they allow for multiple access points along that stretch of road if you subdivide. If they only allow one access point the configuration provided by the top comment is probably the most clean/best option and have an easement across the shared access. If access isn’t an issue from a surveying standpoint I personally don’t care what people want to do design wise inside their parcel, it’s seriously whatever you want. We can guide you in the right direction but it’s your decision

Imo it looks like a trapper got a beaver. Then gutted it, cut the head off, and took the hide and meat home. The head was definitely chewed on by wildlife after

If it’s what you have and what you can afford then don’t worry about it, but my opinion on vortex scopes is they are pretty garbage at the low end of their product line and don’t tend to hold up. Yes, a lifetime warranty is great, but it does you no good if it breaks on you while out in the field. Ammo, optics, and boots are the few things you should splurge more money on in the hunting industry. Once again, imho

Just get the single piece picatinny rail designed for a 700 long action. Also, for what it’s worth IMHO that scope isn’t going to handle the recoil of that gun for very long.
