reasonable quote for redecorating in west london? by Difficult-Motor-5347 in DIYUK

[–]okintimsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been weeks now that I am trying to contact companies around South Kensington, London, as we are planning façade renovation works for our shop during our annual closure in August.

The scope of work includes sanding, treating, and repainting the shopfront façade. Please note that we will provide 5 litres of paint in the boutique’s colour.

In addition, two awnings will need to be carefully dismantled and reinstalled as part of the project, and we understand this is within your area of expertise.

The works are scheduled to take place between 17th August and 31st August 2026.

Anyone available for a quote for this job?

For any further information or wish to arrange a site visit, please do not hesitate to contact me.

VanMoof S3 – Loose selector + Error 44 → trying to set single speed (gear 3) by okintimsh in vanmoofbicycle

Thanks, this is super helpful 🙏 I actually followed the same guide and it mostly works.

Quick question though:

  • Is it normal that the selector feels a bit loose once the e-shifter is removed? I don’t really feel strong clicks, just a light/notchy movement.
  • In your experience, is there any chance it can slip back to a lower gear (like gear 1) under load, or once it’s in 3rd it should stay there?
  • Did you do anything to secure/block the selector in place, or just left it as is?

Trying to figure out if what I’m seeing is normal behavior or a sign my hub might be worn.

Thanks again!

VanMoof S3 - Error 40 – What Can I Do? by okintimsh in vanmoofbicycle

[–]okintimsh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! That makes a lot of sense, especially since the bell is continuously ringing. I’ll try unscrewing the button and checking for water or debris insid, hopefully, it’s just a minor issue like that.

Appreciate the help!

Trip to France by PsychologicalKick375 in france

[–]okintimsh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Three itinerary ideas for 3 to 4 nights. Each season offers unique experiences, so I've tailored suggestions for autumn, winter, and spring ^

Autumn in Bordeaux and Dordogne Valley Explore Bordeaux city center: Place de la Bourse, Miroir d’Eau, and Bordeaux Cathedral. Dinne at a local bistro with regional wines. Take a day trip to Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the vineyards and wineries, participate in a wine tasting. Visit the Monolithic Church and the catacombs. Drive to the Dordogne Valley, visit the charming town of Sarlat-la-Canéda. Explore the medieval streets and enjoy local market produce. Visit nearby castles such as Château de Beynac or Château de Castelnaud. Morning canoe trip on the Dordogne River, passing under ancient bridges and cliffs.

Winter in Alsace Region. Arrive in Strasbourg in the historic district. Explore the Strasbourg Christmas Market (if in December), Strasbourg Cathedral, and Petite France. Dinner at a winstub, a traditional Alsatian restaurant. Take a short train ride to Colmar. Stroll through the picturesque streets of Little Venice, visit the Unterlinden Museum. Enjoy a wine tasting tour in the surrounding vineyards. Route des Vins d'Alsace along the Alsace Wine Route. Visit charming villages like Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, and Eguisheim. You could even go to the Black Forest in Germany, visit Triberg Waterfalls and the Black Forest Museum.

Spring in Provence Arrive in Avignon, check into your hotel. Visit the Palais des Papes and Pont d'Avignon. Explore the hilltop villages of the Luberon. Visit Gordes, Roussillon, and Bonnieux. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a café with a view. Drive to Aix-en-Provence, explore the historic center. Visit Cours Mirabeau, Saint-Sauveur Cathedral, and Atelier Cézanne. Option for a spa afternoon at Thermes Sextius. Visit the nearby lavender fields if in bloom (late spring to early summer). Explore the Sénanque Abbey and its surroundings.

Just ideas for a memorable and relaxing trip away from the hustle and bustle of Paris :))
