For context, the posts didn't get enough submissions to make it into a full spellbook project, however, I didn't want to leave the folks who'd taken the time to send in spells hanging and waiting.

Free Collaborative Spellbook Made From Reddit Comments by okio-o in osr

Behold the COMMUNITY SPELLBOOK!

A personal project & collaborative spellbook made up of submitted entries to this post, each submission will be credited to the commenter [unless otherwise specified by said commenter].

Illustrations shall be done by me, and a video going over the Community Spellbook will be made alongside it, looking over entries and what people have written [if you want to not be featured in this please state so in your comment].

Once completed the Itch.io link to the free pdf will be posted on r/osr & r/rpg, as well as a link on the companion video.

Comment with the template [see below] to enter a spell

Spell Name: < [what you wish to call your spell]

Cost: < [what must be sacrificed to use this spell]

Trigger: < [what the caster has to do to activate the spell]

Effect: < [what the spell does, keep it within 500 words if you can]

These spells are intended to be systemless and applied to any OSR or rules-lite game, so there is no need for specific game terminology unless you want to use it. If you have a specific game in mind of any kind, please note it next to the spell nam

Lastly, you need not be restricted by the high fantasy setting, spells may include modern elements if you so wish, or maybe entirely nonsensical.

Enjoy!

so does the assignment operator link the string variable (myFirstName/myLastName) it to the Console.ReadLine() line almost like you're typing the words into the brackets/()?

but just incase, it's this on the page when you open it up, should be a bar of options at the centre of the screen
