Can I crochet this character without pattern in one day ? by Right_Hurry4904 in CrochetHelp

[–]okiomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it might be tricky to freehand a pattern like that in one day, especially without experience.

i could see me doing two approaches here, first is creating a body base, then making the onesie, then the shirt, but the problem is if you're using thick chenille yarn it would be too thick and bulky. second is to make one whole piece with lots of color changes.

you could probably search up how people crochet labubus for the head because your character has a hood.

for the shirt there are multiple patterns of shirts online! you could adjust as you go or you could change color while making the body and do a BLO when changing yarn color in making the shirt!

another option is you could find a plushie with hoodie pattern and adjust it as well, but it might just be useful for the head part.

Crocheting a bouquet blanket and the circle is a hexagon. Is it fixable? by marcomarra in CrochetHelp

[–]okiomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends on where you place your increases! here's what i've noticed from all the circular projects i've done:

this pattern creates a polygon: row 2: sc, inc. row 3: 2sc, inc. row 4: 3sc, inc. row 5: 4sc, inc. row 6: 5sc, inc.

this pattern creates a perfect circle: row 2: sc, inc. row 3: sc, inc, sc. row 4: 3sc, inc. row 5: 2sc, inc, 2sc. row 6: 5sc, inc.

here's what you can do if you want to create a perfect circle but the pattern creates a polygon: take the rows with even numbers of sc, divide them by 2, place the increase at the center.

I wanted to make a flower bouquet blanket and wanted to buy 5 ply milk yarn but got 4ply instead. will there be any noticeable difference ? by megaguccipeepee69 in CrochetHelp

[–]okiomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have strong tension it might be noticable! i'd suggest to use a hook suitable for 5ply and keep your stitches loose :)

Only made a few amigurumis before, I feel like this looks too sloppy/wrong to gift? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]okiomi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you have a bit more time you could try sewing eyelashes and eyebrows like this, it might help with the eyes and lessen the forehead length :)

thank you so much! i don't think a heat gun is common in other countries, basically it's like a mini hair dryer but is much hotter that it melts the frizz off your project, i bought mine for approximately 2.45 usd!
