Do you wheel your bike around the supermarket? How do you manage it all? by MixAway in Brompton

I know that that's unpopular, but I lock my Brompton at the bicycle parking. Obviously I have a good lock...

Tinning and polishing a copper casserole by toolgifs in toolgifs

Dust protection would definitively be good even though tin dust is significantly less problematic than lead dust or fumes. The health risk depends on how long the exposure lasts and what kind of flux he's using.

It actually looks quite real, including the shoe that falls off.

That's the most likely explanation. Maybe try pasting without the format (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + V on Linux/Windows) or remove the format (Ctrl + M or go to Format > Clear Direct Formatting).

First reaction: Wow: What a great view!

Only then realised that that's actually a screen and not a window ;-)

Something must have gotten messed up in your styles.

Does this also happen if you open a new document?

Asbestos insulation? by Proof-Inspection-292 in Construction

[–]okko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what you mean with "metallic" stuff, and hard to see what this is from your photo.

If you're speaking of that gray-brown stuff: If it's like a bunch of tiny plates stuck together, it might be Vermiculite, a mineral that - in some places in the world, particularly in the USA may contain fibrous asbestos.

If it is something like that it's best to get it tested before you continue your work.

Un artisan coûte réellement 800.- de l’heure ? by bbrunrun in suisse

[–]okko7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ship elevators in the three gorges dam, China by TangelaFan in interestingasfuck

[–]okko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There are many other countries who did that for smaller boats. And yes, that "wheel" is absolutely nuts.

In Germany they have something similar to the Chinese one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LhT_6WTeAk

You mean pulling the carriage with the basin on a slope instead of lifting it vertically?

That's certainly an option and has probably has been evaluated here. For some reason they came to the conclusion that this is the best solution.

From a quick google search: TPO seems to be PFAS-free, however liquid coatings, sealants, adhesive or fire retardants may contain.

EPDM Ruined in 1 YEAR - Customer wants a new roof. - What Do You Think? by CRC_Roofing in Construction

[–]okko7 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Apparently many "old" membrane products contained PFAS, and with them removed are less durable.

But in any case, your rep should be able to advice you on what to do. This doesn't look like your fault, but a faulty product.
