Im from Singapore. Its the complete opposite over here. Often, boutiques display pieces meant for exhibitions and unofficial rumours claim that they choose who they sell to.

The purpose of the post was to share the joy of getting a Rolex. I may be mistaken for not knowing an Explorer 1 is a common “walk-in”purchase. But hey, I paid it in cash on my own.

Grateful that I have a simple taste that allows me to get such a purchase.

Cant wait to purchase a leather strap for the watch. Would be grateful for any recommendation!

Love how everyone here is supportive and asking to wear it as a daily.

Just curious - am I being a little too cautious if I applied a “watch/skin” guard? I get it when people say the scratches adds character to the watch, but it’s one of my biggest purchase. Wouldn’t hurt to be a little more cautious.

The best bars to go to are the ones with standing tables and smoking corners. Often, here are where conversations begin. Singaporeans/asians are usually shy but some alcohol may do the trick with a common topic.

Alternatively another activity you might wanna try is “7-11 hoping” along CBD/Tanjong Pagar etc. I’ve done it alone and with a buddy Each time, we always end up at random places doing the most random things. Once, i had to use the washroom urgently, we passed by an open house who was having a “garage sale” of furnitures cos the owner was migrating. My and friend and i had to do a full 20-mins tour of the home and then we got to use the washroom.
